I got a tb108 kit with a mikuni vm26 carb and its almost dialed in perfect. The problem with this carb is the needle is not tapered enough and sometimes there is a slight hesitation from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. Has anybody changed there needle on this carb to a richer one and if so what is the next size richer cause ive looked everywhere, even the sudco catalog.

Needle -5E75(looking for next size richer)

I know everybody says that I u should run a 24 flatside, but Im so close to jetting perfect that this is the only thing left I believe, and really dont want to modify existing needle.

The VM26 is not too big a carb for the TB108.

I'm having the same issue with my VM26, lean until about 1/2 throttle and then it takes off. The bike is still very ridable, but no holeshots for me.

I have tried the 5L1 needle, which has a noticeably more pronounced taper than the 5E75. However it drastically affected the pilot circuit. I had to go all the way down to a 15 and that's still not small enough. I have a 12.5 pilot to try, but I think the 5L1 needle is just too rich. A few sizes leaner would probably be perfect.

I have looked at those charts recently for reference but the problem is they dont list 5E75 on the chart to know which is the next richest needle-I guess thats part of the problem, but thanks for input.
