lowering gas prices.

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are = tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy gas on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May!

It's worth your consideration.

Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 5.

00 a gallon by this summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy gas .

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them

BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us! By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $4.23 for regular unleaded in my town, woodland hills.

..Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $2.50 - $2.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

..The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit

someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to r educe their prices.

If

they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit

But to have an impact, we = need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this p oint...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have re ached over THREE MILLION consumers .If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION

PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people.

That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, yo u just aren't a mathematician. But I am . so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!

Acting together we can make a difference.

If this= makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK! Lets Try Something Different.

Keep it going .

BUYERS do control the market. But if we all dont know whats up then it wont work. I've been boycotting Exon/Mobile for a while now. It will work if enough people participate.

exactly so if we send this message out to all th people we know an they do the same think about it. word will get around and it will work. im not saying itll take 2 days but befor summer ends maybe gas will go down instead of up.

Lol this kind of thing don't work, unfortunately. The problem is that people are just afraid to try it. In theory, it could work, but realistically people just dont try to do these things. Here's why:

Just today I was driving down the street and on one side of the street is a Bucky's, which is very clean inside and convenient to get to. Gas was $3.89 a gallon. On the direct opposite side of the street is Kwik Shop, which is a dirtier station and this particular one is kind of inconvenient. Gas at Kwik Shop was $3.70. Thats a $.19 cent difference, but people were still at Bucky's because the average consumer doesn't care about the extra couple bucks they would save, they would rather go to the cleaner and more convenient store.

Now if this did happen to take off and the difference was more like $.50 or something, more people would go with it. Personally, I trust the gas from the newer, slightly more expensive stations more. Ever had bad gas? Until there is a very large difference in price, this kind of plan will not work, and it is almost impossible to get it to take off in the first place.

the one thing that the oil companies can fully take advantage of is the fact that americans are for the most part... blubbering idiots. "if we all work together and dont buy mobile!!"... is a pipe dream unfortunately.

The way I see it, the only way that you could really get this kinda message out the the american public is to dumb it down, and play it as a commercial during american idol.... like twice in a row. I hate to sound like the biggest pessemist in the world here, but come on... when is the last time you saw modern society band together to get anything accomplished. the 70's? Hippies didn't really accomplish anything, they just said hey man... war is bad.

I would be genuinely impressed if a single town had their act together good enough to stop buying one brand of gas. There will always be the people that just dont care, the lazy people that needed a candy bar and a soda and a tank of gas, the people out on the road that are just about empty and have to fill up somewhere... whether is mobile or not. Doctors, lawyers, millionaires with the new BMW/mercedes/hummer that see fuel as an inconvenience waiting for somebody to pump it... who cares about how much it costs.

So yah, american idol/so you think you can dance commercial placement... or a celebrity, maybe britney spears can get exxon sucks tattood on her ass and people will get the message. Otherwise I just don't see it working....

A problem i see coming is if the plan works and exxon/mobil start to lower prices by say 50 cents so gas would be around 3.50 most likely anyone not boycotting would buy the cheaper gas and fuk everything up. I can't see them all of the sudden droping gas prices by 2 bucks even if they are not selling as much

Over here it is country fair, they are the most popular because they are everywhere on every corner practically. You would have to go out of your way significantly to go to another station so I doubt anyone will be boycotting them. The guy who owns all the Cf's in the area has a house outside of town that looks more like an ice hockey arena.
