Take them apart and make 2 inch pvc spacers the same od as the top out springs and install them under the top out springs. Then shorten the fork springs 1.5 inches. Those measurements may not be exact but you will get the idea when you take them apart. Just play with the spacers and the springs until you get the right combo to get the 2 inch drop. Or slide them through the clamps a bit to drop it and keep the travel.. Also you can drop the forks through the clamps to fine tune the lowering of the forks to get it just right.

How much would it cost to have them shortened 2" ? I have access to a pair of these forks, What did you have to do to get these on the 110 ???

You need the clamps, and 2 sets of tapered bearings for the klx110. You use both upper bearings/ races. you might need to take some sand paper and sand the stem just a lil down bottom but the bearing will go on. Thats it... slide it together and ride away...

As for shortening them...im not sure how much it costs...

Also you need an 85 hub, brakes and 65 wheel.

klx fender will fit on, so will the number plate with a lil modification, or you can use an 85 number plate...an 85 fender would look goofy...

Please do NOT use PVC to space the damper 2"!!! Do it properly, or have your suspension guy contact Velocity Suspension and they will walk him through the process. PM me for their contact info so I don't get yelled at for advertising for them.

Thanks for the info.

The clamps being kx85 triple clamps ? Use both klx110 bearings on the top of stem ? or 2 top and 2 bottom ?

Kx 85 clamps, yes. I went aftermarket top clamp. You use 1 top bearing from each kit. The bearing diameter is the same on the kx85 (top and bottom) and the klx is not. Thats whys you need two top bearings.

Looks nice.

So you lace up the 85 hub to a 65 rim so you get the 65 wheel size but 85 brakes. Did you use 65 spokes to do that also?

Does not look bad at all but I would like to see a picture of the bike on the ground. It seems level when on the stand.

I got the sano mx swingarm kit so it should not be too bad.

I think I may go with this in the spring.

65 rim and spokes... I will need to get the fork shortened but when i do it'll sit perfect with any swinger (bbr-sano-etc) This is from comparisons of my bike next to others.

Yup, 85 brakes:grin:

Its not that cheap, but its top of the line for sure. Considering you could buy a cheap 85 (the whole bike) for what you can buy zokes for you could part the rest and come out alot farther ahead.

I bought alot of the part separate so it cost more, then again most of my stuff is new or after market (black fork sliders, excel rim, triple clamps, etc...)

Cr forks would work better cause you can slide then farther up in the clamps (the forks arent tapered like the kx's) but im not sure if they'd fit in the clamps or not...

Let me know where you get your forks shortend and how much it was.

MX-TECH suspension is only like a half a hour from me. I wonder if they can do it for me? You say about two inches right. I may call them and see how much and if they can.

Which two bearings do I use from both sets of taper 110 bearings and do I put both of them on the bottom of the stem before I slide the lower clamp in the head tube or one on top and bottom.

One more question would I need a aftermarket top clamp or would the stock top clamp work fine? I just did not know if the forks with a stock top clamp would run into problems when I try to level the bike by sliding the forks up in the clamps cause of the bars.

Thanks

Does anyone know if that wheel setup will work for a 110 with kx65 forks ???

I mean kx 85 hub with 65 rim and spokes ??? Please let me know ....

I have kx65 forks and I can get a 85 wheel for cheap since I can not find a deal on a 65 wheel

Stock clamp will work fine...

2 sets of tapered bearings. In each set there are 2 bearings, 1 big, 1 small. You use both small bearings and assemble it like any other triple clamp assembly.
