just get a 150r

 

I have a brand new take off 150R front end sitting around with brakes and a wheel. I got it because I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my 140. I wanted the Honda and the Kaw front. If you look at the pics-- I went with the KX100 for a couple of reasons. The Honda is a little bit better though. ---T

 

yea 150r is amazing. if you are really set on the 140 and want to spend extra money for not nearly the bike of a 150r then go for it...

 

Monster graphics are so tired. I'd love to ride a KLX140, though. They seem like they'd be really fun.

I dont understand why people say, if your gunna get a 140 why not get a 150r.

Ya get a 150r...Beleive it or not, my 150R pulls 125/250 smokers out of corners and up hills. Its way torquey!!!

ya the story on the kickstarter is the 190cc with pvl ignition advanced to 30 degrees does not like to be kickstarted. broke the gears off the kicker gear inside the engine so for now it's bump start only. i bet this thing would run with a 150r, she makes around 20+hp with the 36mm carb.

for 1 my suspension is better than the 150r, 15lbs lighter, engine will last 15 times longer than the 150r and cost about 25% less to build and is a one-off. guys the 150r is a great bike but alot of people from our neck of the woods say the engine is very unreliable and if your over 145lbs your gonna drop another $800 into the suspension to get it set up correctly. plus i can race mine at any pitbike race. oh and i have a new rear tire, just waiting for our team tire changer to get off his lazy as$ and get-r-done. thanks for the comments guys.

rode hacks bike this past weekend and it rips! this bike is on my next build list for sure. love the feel of it.

 

I'm on it already... I need a custom shock made tho! Who makes shocks besides Works? Anybody ever ran a Works on any bike other than a KLX110 sized bike? I have one on my 110, and it's decent. I tried 4 of them on a KX65 project before, and they were all bunk-- I finally sent them back, and scrapped the project. I know alot more about suspension now tho, and I'd either get an Ohlins, or a custom spring for the stock shock. Here's a pic of my project. --L*64

 

hackmunch, did your bike kickstart fine with the 190cc kit and without the PVL ignition?

 

yea with stock ignition it was fine, stock fire timing was 22 degrees btd but i have the pvl set to 30 degree. runs way stronger at 30 degree.
