Well it was bogging down when I have it wide open...and even worse when in the air and give it gas...so today I put a 105 in to try when out to ride it and. It seems to ride a little better then when you pin it and shift to second gear it sputters then like catches up and goes..and the bog that used to happen isn't there any more..but pulled my plug and its still alittle charcoal black...so do I want to move the clip in the needle up one...just worried why it sputters and then catches up when shifting to second wide open.....

should clean your plug with a wire brush and try a plug test again...

you can try dropping the needle 1 clip setting and try it..

also how much time is on this engine so far?

might be worth re checking the valve clearances because they would of bed in a bit by now

Ya I've ben cleaning it with a wire brush..um it mabe has 2 hrs on everything...I've checked clearance its good.it pulls a lot better sounds a lot better.it only boggs and sputters when I'm wide open and then shift in a nother gear soon as I let the clutchout in that higher gear wide open it sputters and then like catches up..so I was thinking to try a 110 and put needle in the middle and try that..what do you think..lol

so it runs fine from idle to 3/4? not bogs or hesitations?

if the plug is black then its still too rich..

at sea level a 184 would only need about a 112 main.

so considering your 4000+ above id be going smaller on the main and see how it acts if its worse then go bigger..

drop it to a 100..

but like i said do 1 thing at a time or else your chasing your tail..

So do u think I need to get a couple smaller pilot jets to..it usually starts on the 4th or so kick..id like to help that area if I can to.....and what size do you think..

all the information is in previous posts as to how to tune the pilot, main and needle...

best idle quality must be around 1.5-2 turns on the mix screw..

this doesnt mean just wack any pilot in and set the screw there...

i seriously suggest you take it someone to tune because your going round in circles..

Ok its dam close now..I was so stuck on changing the main....but put a 102 main and 44 pilot..needle in the middle.and mix screw is a. Hair over 1 turn out....pulled the plug and good shade of brown...so I'm happy with it....thanks for all the info..all though didn't pay attention to all of it..lol..but goter done..

thats good to hear...

tho if you liked you could go up a shade on the pilot(next size up), it will give you a better tune on the mixture..

but see how it goes first.. time will tell
