its a lifan motor with a 47mm bore and a 49.5mm stroker crank, its a cheap alternative for a complete motor. i hear anymore power and it will break, but other than that lifan is a cheap chinise company and you will get what you pay for.

 

Go with a TrailBikes full race head motor with manual clutch, will cost basically the same, be faster and 10x more reliable. www.hondatrailbikes.com

 

If you want to stick with your semi-auto tranny, Trailbikes also has a new 3 plate semi-auto clutch that will hold up to the abuse of a big-bore motor.

You bring up some valid points. A good number of the RC86 motors didn't hold up to the hype. Hype is the key word here.



In regards to the TB parts, I've read as may failures with the TB stuff as I have the Kitaco or Takegawa stuff. Very little. Some of these problems are due to installer error on all parts sold.



The key is how you set the expectations. If you sell products based on how people like them and how they perform, they keep selling. If you sell parts based on smoke and mirrors and the truth comes out that they don't live up to the hype, trouble begins.



The companies that do the best let their products and customers sell the parts for them.

The list goes on and on. One constant is you don't hear from these folks around these parts and their customers speak for them.

Hey guys i think im going with the Trailbikes kit. It seems like alot of peope think its great. Thanks for the help.

 

Oldschool do you like the RC 86 because I think I read of you having one a while back? (not to be sarcastic just wanting to know because I was thinking about getting one)

 

I'm not going to sit here and Bash Vince or RC MOTORSPORTS. for I have no connection what so ever with Them. What I am standing up for is the LIFAN Motor itself. I have 2 of them I got From My sponcor Precision Cycles. They have both worked with out any problems One is stock and in a stock fiddie. The other is a Stroked 105cc rocket with an Inner rotor Ign. that Friggin Flys.



Dan do you own a LIFAN Motor? How about you Chet?? If you dont How can you Bash it with out owning one yourselfs. Because Joe Blow said it sucked??

I believe in the LIFAN MOTOR it is my OPINION and Mine ONLY Because I Have 2 of them for over a year now with no problems. Im not some Dope I know what im talking about also and have Been a ProAm Motocross rider and have been a ASE certified Mechanic so i do have a clue about how a motor works.

For the past 2 years now I have had my hands completely into the Fiddie motors..........STOCK and MODIFIED.

IMO lifan is a cheapo, will hang but not last as long.

rc sells lifan's of all sorts

 

(2) 86cc LIFAN motors the same ones that RC sells. I'll put my bike up against any other 105cc it really flys. I let a bunch of people ride my bike at the Fiddie race that we had in May. and it brought smiles to alot of people faces as did Milans Harris bike "his bike shocked people and it to is based on the LIFAN Motor-------- :wink:

yea actually i used to have a few engines ago a 105 cc stroked one and no i wasnt bashing it i was just pointing out how opposite this site used to be like 5-6 months ago

I read the thread about this motor before it was deleted, and the arguement wasn't so much about the motor being a pos as it was the person selling it being deceptive in advertisement of said motor. In short I am with five-o addict on this one..........You get what you pay for.

no actually i liiked my 105cc... and you can think what you want but i have never bashed the rc86 motrs.... o and if you read the few words before that part you would see that i was saying what everyone else was saying.....

i dont know if you were on here back in the day but every time someone asked what engine toget it was rc86 rc86.....and so on.... but yea im still waiting for you to show me where i was bashin them

 

Exactly, thats all Chet was saying, it used to be like a RC worship center around here before and everyone was falling the lies and deception that Vince was spouting. But when RC couldnt follow through on their lies most started to see the light.

 

lifans are decent i love mine just the transmissions don't hold up to my riding style so i just changed the whole topend to a honda but all in all it is a good engine if your easy on the tranny!

 

I am told that the " Shift forks " are the weak link to the tranny. what i am told is they tweak under heavy shifting. And cause third gear to let go.



The Fix is to get the New Hardened Shift forks " factory Replacement Fix " to get these and to find out all the Details Contact: Milan Harris ( Harris 718 ) here on planet minis...........

If you Guys Dont want to take my word for it on these motors........Just ask >>>>Toddo or Johnny B. for they were at a track and got a chance to ride a stock 86cc LIFAN and my race bike with a 105cc LIFAN motor.



the stock LIFAN motor is a perfect replacement for the stock 50cc motor with plenty of BALLS and a Inner Rotor Ign. and it flat out RIPS!!!
