Buying a used TTR50 and would like to know where to look to see what year it is. Is it by looking at the serial number? If so, which one tells you? I am told by the seller it is a 07 but want a way to confirm.

Well the 1st yr was 2006 wasn't it? So if hat is true it cannot be any older.....I have an 06

My bad, I meant 08. How do you tell if it is a 2008? I dont want to pay what I am paying for a 07 or 06 so that is why I'm asking. Bike will be for my 6 year old boy.

If I'm not mistaken; it's the 10th number from reading left to right.

2008's have black fuel tanks not blue, and it will also say the year on the frame and the papers

and also, it doesnt matter what year the bike is, price will stay the same on stck 50's, they keep their value

pretty much if it is Japanese and stock=======gold 4ever....I always try to keep all my stock pull off parts...exception is rims and spokes....that is an upgrade that will not interfere to much with a stockers design...just make it more dependble....ttr50 spokes are weak

Thanks everyone! I know what to look for and the most easiest is the black gas tank but will also confirm by the 10th number of the serial number. I dont think this guy would pull one on me but just want to make sure I get what I pay for.



I am a complete noobie when it come to bikes so I am sure I will have lots of questions later on.

the 06 ttr frame is blue and the 07 is black but not sure about the 08

Got the bike and it is a 08, paper work and the black tank. Thanks again for everyones help!
