the 124 is not going lug around at all, its going to be very fast. if I had to choose id go with the daytona only because for the same price you get the entire motor.
well im looking to buy my uncles crf70 and he has the full kitaco se motor already so. . . i just know ive been told the daytona is gonna run with my 171cc stroker that i have in my 110. so im trying to compare the 124 to what i have now lol. . i guess i need to just ride it lol. . i want to make sure im gonna be ripping with a 124 haha.

i know this thread is old,,, i wanted to bump it up with my experience of the 2 motors...

i bought a daytona 150,, motor was weak as heel, i put the upgraded cam and high compression piston in it,, made the smallest bit of difference it wasnt even worth the 200 bucks it cost,,motor has 0 bottomend , daytona 150 is a freakin TURD!

now my kitaco 124se i have now,,, this motor is so nasty its rediculous,, me and my buddy drag raced and we are dead even,, the 124se pulls hard and has a ton of topend,, if ported right the head will deliver 2 more HP (from what im told),,,, this 124se will kill alot of motors that are bigger cc than this one,,, i love it and it has power everywhere!! i got a tak 124dohc also, not sure how fast that is but we'll see soon,,,

wait,, hold the presses,, I believe my V2 headed , 110cc HO engined stock mod bike pulled yours every time, only by a bike length , but it pulled ahead and we then stayed about the same speed.

I do agree with ya that the 124se is faster than your Daytona though.

hahaha my sh*t needed jetting, and my valves needed to be adjusted bad!! one intake valve was tighter than hell, and the ex was way loose,,, im not thinkin you were a bike length tho??

this motor is sicker than ever now and ill be happy to drag you again:D

Both those engines are similar in out put but the problem is that not everyone has the same state of tune, carb, exhaust, gearing, weight, ignition and so forth and so on.

This has a huge impact on how your engine will run.

I know this goof ball!!! I'm not a dumb cali kid, lol. J/K.

I'm interested in building a honda motor for my midsize put thinking of gogin 138 DOHC or +R and wondering where the 124's ran as far as pull. The 124SE I've ridden was a tractor, but it was undercarbed and in a 10" The daytona 150/160 dohc can't hold a candle stick to my 195..... Don't wanna lose too much power...

so hypethetically both these motors with these general set-ups

pwk28mm carb.

Tokyo mods digital stage 3 ignition

yoshi pipe

custom long tract intake manifold

U4.4

in a light chasis, 143lbs with a big YX in it loaded with fluids
