A little common sense says to me that no one should ever kick over an engine with a over head cam that has just been changed leave the spark plug out and slowly turn that motor over if its out of time the valves and piston will let you know with a little tunk sound and it will not turn over unless you are a kog off but you will still hear a tunk. the biggest problem i had was i would get the timming right but i wasnt thinking what the chain tensioner would affect i had to put the cam gear one kog or tooth ahead because the tensioner would pull it back into position.

Ok for the last TIME! The timing is correct!









Just swapped a whole other honda ignition on it, Fresh Gas, etc. 20 kicks later and it sputterd to life.

its got to be something more than ignition then. So the latest ignition got the bike to start or just sputter then die?



so your confident the timing is correct, how bout trying a bigger pilot jet or adjusting the air screw?

I wasnt questioning your timming just sharring the problem i had with my sons YX150 amongst many other ishues.

one other thing probably just going to tork you off some more put your hand over the end of the carb as you kick it over if there is vacuum your hand will get wet with fuel if the timming is on and there is spark the all the rest is in working order then its not getting fuel and after you kick it over for a wile is the spark plug wet if so then my opinion is that it has to be mechanicle like valve or head gasket. ok ill shut up now.

Was getting a litte mad because everyone keep on saying my timing was off. Even tho I keep saying it was correct. Thats all.

Yeah I know frustration...but one picture of the flywheel /cam would have settle that. Glad yeah got it running....

Please let us know what it was allot of times its the simplest things that we dont think to check or overlook i do it at least once every second. that worries me now that i think about it.

Still don't know what was wrong. Just swapped most of the ignition stuff. IDK Just glad it's running after a year of sitting in the corner.
