What motor? GPX?

What sprockets are you running?

Hey daddysmut,

On my 108 ZS (110cc) I ran a bigger jet(95, was 85) on my 24mm to try and get some more MPH. Instead the topspeed DROPPED 6 MPH.

Maybe you need to check your jet size?

Also, those stock rev boxes on the ZB and ST90s are terrible! Get a TB CDI or equivalent for more usable power.

Getting big MPH numbers out of these things is difficult! You'll gain 3-5mph by going to a 31t rear sprocket as long as the gpx's power can handle that ratio.

I'm running a loncin 125 with stock 19mm carb, kitaco exhaust, aftermarket rev box and 17/31 gears. I saw 58mph on the gps. I'm hoping the 24mm mikuni clone carb will get me over 60mph.

GPX, 17/36, 22mm carb, down racing pipe.

Interesting

I ran 49 with stock gearing

granted my motor set-up is:

DR Atv Big valve head, -bigger chamber & lower compression -

custom porting -

Z40 Cam -

32T Cam Sprocket FOR MONSTER_ENGINES & Z40 CAMS -

HD valve springs -

28mm OKO Carb & custom shortened big Kitaco intake -

54mm DR Atv H/C Piston -

Yoshimura Pipe

but gearing is gearing, I know it gets there real quick though!

smut,

your new quest for speed will start w/ change of gears 17t front and avail as of now 35t rear from dratv. what size tire do you have in the rear .. i cant remember what you said but i think its a 120/70/10???? the carb is way too small for the engine 25mm and up would work better. a taller tire will also give you more top end.

This what i run on mine for now.

25mm mikuni carb

17t front

35t rear

130/90/10 rear tire. michellin

I will gps the bike this up coming weekend !!!

bobby you should get a gps and see how accurate your speedo is.

I agree that a GPS will be acurate. But I can not see my wife's Durango being that far off.

We did a whole exercise, cruising only at posted speed limits, 30, 35, 45, etc. And each time my speedo was spot on with her speed.

Even if her speedo was 5MPH faster than indicated, I am still hitting 57mph.

I'm going to try and get Officer Friendly to get me on radar. :)

bobby,

that would be cool

We have a few roads that have radar posted speed for the public to see how fast they are going before they get their ticket for speeding... after i get the bike registered i will try the speed trap by the cops!! and a gps as well and compare it to the speedo to see how close is the speedo!!
