I finally found a ZB 50. It was only 20 minutes from here (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) It is in pretty good shape. All stock except the taillight. I have the stock one to put back on though.

I do have a question....the front signal lights come on but don't blink and the back ones don't even come on. I just got it last night so I haven't looked at it yet but I am not good with wiring anyway. Is this a common problem or do I just have to check over all the wiring to try and find the problem?

Also, thank you to the member in B.C. that wanted to sell me his. It was in a little rough shape for me but I appreciated the offer.

wiring problem

without being a wiring wiz I can say you have a low voltage`issue due to a dead battery. as with most mechanical issues,You should start with the simple things like battery, broken bulbs, loose wires, etc and try to eliminate them.its unlikely anything serious.congrats on ur new ride!

Got it for $1700.00 Canadian. All original except taillight. Has 3000 km on it (about 2000 miles ha ha) I will get a new battery and start checking other stuff next week when I get time. Have to get ready for our trip to the Fast 50 minibike world championship race in 2 weeks. We have a 30 hour drive to make. Thanks for the advice :)

Even with a bad battery the blinkers should work with the motor running. Go to a Fry's or local electronics store and pick up a sealed 12 volt 1.2 amp hor battery. You can use it on the bike but also test your bulbs with it. just disconnect your blinkers and check them on the battery. you might need new blubs in the rear. also sounds like your flasher is out.

How many miles are on the bike?

Im still getting used KPH on my monkey as the LCD speedo im running is in KM.
This is an old pic of my 1976 Honda XR75. If you look by the front wheel you will see a max speed sign in the background, the sign is in MPH. Way back, Canada went by Imperial measurements then later changed over to the metric system. Guessing 1979?

Congrats! Pretty soon, all the ZB's in north america will be owned by people on this board....haha.

Oh, if you want a stock flasher relay, I've got an extra one.

I am guessing that is probably the problem if the lights come on but don't blink, you are in vancouver right? How much? How would I get it from you and pay you for it? Let me know....

on my zb if one of the bulbs on one side are blown the other one will come on but not blink. As soon as I replace the blown bulb, both blink fine.

Get a new battery, check the bulbs that aren't lighting up, change them if they're bad and try the signals again.

If this doesn't work... like brad said, it's the flasher. The flasher is located under the tank way up near the front of the bike.
