Dude you can do anything just put your mind to it. Ok the best way to do it is first visualize the kind of exhaust you want to have on your bike, then take your silencer/canister and mount it the way you want it to sit on your bike with out the header hooked up obviously. Then you need to buy a extra header that has alot of bends in it like for instance the medina/LXR header, use that and cut it up to pipe your new exhaust. Look at the bends on the extra pipe that you get and see what bend would fit in place of the new header. Make clean cuts and make sure your angles are good.

Tools: sawzaw, file, vice and a welder if you dont have a welder just get it all together and tape it up then take it to someone to weld.

im trying to make a quieter can, with the same or more power. also going to cut off a little of the pitster pipe, and hide the exhaust behind the number plate too. i just cant make it. haha

yeah i cut my can too, just measure how much you wanna take off, then to get a clean and accurate cut, wrap with blue painters tape or any other tape on the measurement and fallow it that way. makes for a clean and flush cut. I took off about an inch 1/2 on mine and now it pretty loud kinda regret it:rolleyes: owell though.

keep in mind that there is alot more to making power than just welding some pipes together Coby, since you have an LXR and it has more a than 4 inches of wheel travel and the tire is lined up center of the frame, you cannot put the muffler under the rear fender,it will get hit by the tire .

companies like PC, FMF, Doma etc have a lot of years in dyno tuning, racing, engine building to know what works well and what does not. If you are looking to just fab something up to say,, "I did it" then knock your self out, if you are hoping to add real performance to your bike, you will spend alot more time and effort into making something that might or might not add power that what it is worth.

Shortening the header will most likely rob some HP. Repack that can if you want to quiet it up a bit.

+1 with matified... he knows his stuff and has built some dope exhausts...

I always like how that one sounded, I put the second at an angle and made a diverter internally to direct equal amounts of exhaust to both tips!

just get the new PC pitster had made they had a bike at PC for 4 months testing and tuning the system to perform at its best with a built v2 race motor, witch is great because taht system was made for something taht makes good power not something that was made for a 110cc 5-6hp turd
