CT70 Auxillary Gas Tank options

Anyone have a link, or idea on CT70 gas tank options. Because these things only hold .66 gallons, they don't make an ideal option for long range riding. I usually get 40 miles out of a tankful on my ct70. But I like to ride it for 200 mile excursions sometimes.

Usually, I carry a 1.5gallon gas can on the back rack but it gets in the way when I ride 2-up with my wife on the back. And, it gets in the way when I try to carry my backpack. I don't have a front rack to carry anything.

What about a chrome or steel oil tank used for choppers? That ct90 one is too small, so don't even suggest. I need to get at least an additional gallon and if that means running a spare tank on either side of the seat, so be it.

Put a rack on your bike and fabricate something that will work. If you ran 2 G-craft units (right and left mount) you wouldn't have enough $$ to pay for the gas, and it still wouldn't hold the gallon or two you need... I'd get a rack and fabricate something to work. That's the downside to the CT70's as you are aware.

Do what Ferg did and use the whole interior of the frame as one giant gas tank! :D

The frame into a tank is a good option if you are going to build a new ct70. But I am not going to rip this one apart and weld it up. No chance there. The dual pipe setup would be difficult to make look correctly on this bike since I am running such a non-standard pipe on it.

I'll probably just go with my first item...those little 1 Liter tanks that mount under each side of the seat. They are small, easy to get to, and won't interfere with anything. I will only double my fuel capacity, but that is still better than nothing.

You may want to think about making your own tanks as the mount is just flat metal and you run a spacer between the mount and the frame. You've got some skills as I think you'd be able to do it cheaper and nicer Then the $200 you are going to spend not including overseas shipping charges.

That way you could run a metal gas cap and have them finished nicer. Finding a cylinder shaped tank shouldn't be that difficult in aluminum and not overly expensive.
