I bought two more fiddies to add to the collection a few days ago and the guy told me he would order me a brand new two brothers 88cc big bore kit with cam. I had full intentions on when receiving the kit to put the cam in an E22 head but i just got to thinking it might not fit that head. Does anyone know if they will work together? If not which would be the best step, either run a stock 50 head with the new cam or install the e22 head? Thanks for any advice in advance

I do not see why the cam would not work....you may have to use the stocker cam sprocket...depends on if the cam you put in it is a 2 or 3 bolt....but most of the aftermarket cams fit the later model heads (E22 included).......I woould run the E22...it is more like a CRF70 head....ported they work well...FPM does a real nice job.....if the 88 kit is a flat top piston you need to stay with the stocker 50 head...you will lose compression ratio if you use a E22 and a flat top piston......

Ok cool. Im not sure what piston its gonna be yet cause it hasnt came in yet.....hopefully tomorrow though. I really wanna run the e22 cause i know like you said that it will breath a lot better than the stock 50 head. So just for instance the cam sprocket wont inner change with the new cam and it does come with a dome piston should i still use the stock e22 head or run the stock 50 head with cam??

if it comes with the domed piston DO use the E22....FPM can get a import cam sprocket to you ASAP

ther could be a chance (if it is a domed piston) that along with the hi lift longer duration cam that the stock 50 heads valves could hit the piston.....possible ya know...whatever you do, make sure that the valves do not hit the piston before you start her up

Maybe you can catch the seller and advise him to save some money and get you the TB kit with the 365 piston, to match that e22. The one you're talking about is very likely a flat top, and the cam won't work in an e22. 0 for 2. E22 heads typically lack the outer race area needed for a "Honda" cam, and use the 3-bolt setup. Easy to come by.

Some people run the E22 with a flat top (one "expert" even packages them that way...), and you'll still make more peak power than a stock head, but the compression will be lower than grandma's Gremlin, and low-end torque will be gone. Bad plan.
