Thanx !

if it apart, I would recommend doing the change. I change the gear every year, so the next time its apart... I will be upgrading the gear too.

Damn chinese inferior metallurgy... wait, what?

:eek:uttahere:

Not a fair argument for the following reason IMO:

The KLX110 is built to have a 6hp engine and a rider under 110lbs or so,,, and at this scenerio the bike will last a lifetime without having to change out the 2nd gear. It is only when us guys that are adults and are a lot heavier and also double to triple the HP on the bike that problems happen with the tranny.

Now look at the chinese metallurgy:

THey are making the engines for adults and for engines that have the same amount of power as a Mod 110 (So you would think they would create parts that would be able to handle the intended purpose) and these parts are failing because the metallurgy isn't up to par. Although this is true it is also true that the chinese are getting better and better so I wouldn't be suprised in the next couple of years they will have it nailed.

NOTE: Not smack talking but just thought that was an unfair remark to the quality of the Kawasaki part.

Actually it's a choked motor from a street bike that was intended for use by adults. All Kawi did to adapt it for kids is lock out 4th and put a crap cam and carb on.

Actually, these engines are made for noodle delivery girls and typically never see the high side of 30 miles per hour, no real engineering has gone into them. It just happens that we buy them up over here to build the crap out of them 'cause they're cheap.

exactly what im thinking. a honda motor dosent require near the internals like the klx does.

Hondas bottom ends are 3 speeds aka there gears are 10 times thicker than say a 4 speed tranny in a honda or klx. I have pictures of comparisons, but theres a huge difference. Even if you compair a Z 50 tranny to a xr 50 tranny theres a huge difference in thickness.

 You think the KLX gears are thinner than a 3 spd 50 ? I haven't side by side'd them to confirm your statement .. But the 110's sure look thick enough to me .

Here's my take ..,

I'm think'n that the bean counters won't allow the 110's to be engineer'd out as bullet proof as the 50's and 70's are .

Idk ..., to me the parts I've been replace'n in these 110 motors lately makes me really wonder what their main goal was other than to make a quick profit ?

Take a look at the suggested retail of the CRF 70 compared to the KLX 110 . I believe that the one company is make'n sure that their product will last for more than one generation of new riders that's gonna ride it day in day out with very little or no maintenance done to it . ;)

Like it or not ...., these are my opinions .., aaaaand it's my thread !!!! :wavey:

Oh and BTW ..., I ordered one today !!

Thanx guys ! :)

Ride your stock KLX110/KSR110 forever and nothing will ever break. At 6hp, there is no wear of parts.

An OEM stock 110 with a properly adjusted chain will not break an outputshaft. Run your completely stocker and don't worry about broken parts... on that note, you should be around 4' tall and less than 100lbs, so no bent pegs and such....

Ha ha ha ... holy crap dude .. didn't you think you get the hint that a CHP one was in order after the second time around ??

It wasn't avaliable when I done these. I've been riding 110 since thay came out in 02. I also have a friend that has 4 110's that I keep up. The next one I put in will be a CHP!
