take off the airbox, remove the spark arrestor take all that stupid metal off the exhaust, wrap it with an exhaust wrap, as for the brake removal if you find yourself never using the back brake you could remove the brakes and the brake arm to loose like a pound, a sauna will typically lighten your load quite a bit.

You can take 2 brand new 50's and they will not run just alike. I have found that weight is not nearly as big of factor as you think, rotating weight, yes, take what ever you want off that bike.. Not enough to ever make a diff. UNI filter, spark arrestor, inner rotor kit off eBay 35$, and if you can weld a stock 70 pipe modied to fit. I have a "stock" bike and have a TB 88 with crank, head, etc etc. I enjoy squeezing power out of stock engines no matter what it is.
My "stocker" has a 70 carb plus other items listed above, made my intake out of alum 90deg fitting.
With the mod 70 pipe, haven't found a stock bore-head 50 that can beat it.

i cleaned the ports on the stock head and matched the the intake manifold to the intake and 70 carb, i also opened the exhaust up and little its welded in the inside so i welded the outside flange and used a die grinder to open it up, horstman grim reaper clutch and takegawa inner rotor, i also made a little more compression by splitting the head gasket and throwing the thicker middle part away
next mod i had planned was to run a wiseco 2mm over bore dome topped piston and a XR70 head i have the parts but been having more fun with the 106 motor

The most sensible answer yet.

Have to agree this is the cheapest way to get it moving - I upgraded to the TB 88 cylinder & piston for $139 without the carb, 1 size up in mainjet and a revbox and it pulls like a horse. Exhaust, carb & head etc all still stock.

"Twice as good as stock" isn't an over exaggeration, and no little mod will deliver anywhere near that. I'm saving to do the same thing on my other sons Z50R.

He asked for cheap options to make his stocker faster than other stockers. Everyone and their mother knows that adding displacement is the easy option for power. If he wanted to hear "buy an 88 kit" Im sure he wouldnt have even started this thread.

Sorry I just hate always seeing: How do I get more power? -Buy an 88 kit, Whats wrong with my bike? -It's a problem with your jetting.

like i said in my first post ive tried all the free mods and some that cost some dollar and nothing really made the bike noticeably faster, inner rotor made
the bike rev quicker and made the most noticeable difference on the track. foam filter, remove the spark arrestor, head gasket mod didnt make any differance
on the track these 50s need money thrown at them to make them noticeably faster. im talking from experience
if you want to turn faster lap times on 50cc's then learn to carry your speed through the corners and minimize mistakes and your be able to hang with big bore bikes on a tight track, 50s dont have the torque to pull out of the corners

if you wanna stay stock bore do a cam rev box pod filter and lighten the fly wheel....but as far as price a tb 88 kit will be way cheaper than a cam and rev box and the gains are much more significant. if you wanna keep it stock "looking" do 75cc and a cam and filter. i was not trying to post the "buy 88 kit" type post but to me thats the easiest way way to get a stock 50 moving on the cheap.

Buy VP fuels U4 race gas. It's about $29.50 a gallon and it will add 20% a cross the board.

A Chinese inner rotor ignition is only $25 and it will rev faster. Tho it will rob some torque... But for $25 I don't think you'll get a better bag for the buck. (88cc will give you much more power, but that's well over $100)

That's the issue with race gas... 90$ for 5 gallons to last a few weeks lol many ways around the big bore kit but it comes to how much ya wanna spend and what you want out of it. I've riden a few "stock" 50's with a inner rotor cam and 75 kit and that was a blast. Stock pipe and all.

Sprockets. Change them around. They are cheap and affect the speed and torque immensely.
