Has anyone made such a thing for a start in any gear motor? Mostly interested in torque value for clutch nut and the four bolts over the springs.

There are few enough parts that I got it back together fine but apparently I did the 4 bolts too tight because my springs are all bottomed out and surprise, it doesn't work.

Also if going from a 4 plate setup to 5 can I just load in the new plates or would I need a new basket that can accept the extra plate?

Okay that sounds easy enough to figure out.

I bought a 5 plate kit, I'll just measure the height of the stack compared to the height of the 4 stack that was in there and make sure they are comparable.

so I just need to tighten the 4 bolts until snug? and what is the torque value for the clutch nut, same as a crank mount clutch at about 32ft-lbs?

okay so I worked on it again tonight and the bearing in the top plate is touching the shaft going through the clutch, so pulling the lever wouldn't do anything. Does this sound familiar to anyone? why would this happen?
