Center Stand on a CT70

Hi guys,

I am new to the board, I recently aquired a 71 CT70 and am currently patching it back together. I have seen the overseas version (DAX) with a center stand, I would like to do the same.

Questions:

1.) Can you maintain both side stand and the center stand at the same time, or do I have to commit to one or the other?

2.)Will a ct90 center stand work with the CT70's? they also have a center stand, I just don't know how they are mounted.

3.)Are these not the coolest bikes built? I am addicted!

Thanks,

Don't think it is possible to do on the CT70s. The CT90 uses a frame mounted centerstand which is completely independent of its engine mounted side stand. The CT70 does not have the same provisions on the frame to install a centerstand, and thus must be attached to the motor. To the best of my knowledge, Honda does not make an 'all-in-one' sidestand/centerstand that mounts to the bottom of the engine.

The 1991 - 1994 CT70's come with the center stand and no side stand. I will look later to see if it's possible to change out to the more conventional side stand with the footpeg assembly. I think if I'm not mistaken, the footpeg assembly has the same bolt pattern that attaches to the bottom of the engine.

I have asked them really nicely if they would ship to Canada, no reply yet. I am hoping they will.....

If they refuse, would anyone out there do me a favor and ship it to me? Arrangements could be done from my end.

Should work great for when the young ones want to sit on it without it falling on them.

Where do you live? I live in vancouver and there's a place just across the line that you can ship things too and they hold it for up to two weeks for 5 bucks a package. If you live near a boarder there may be a place like that near you. Gotta be cheaper that way.

SJ90 and HymieP,

Thanks for the offer of re delivery, I did get a reply from them, They will ship it Priority post to me in Canada for $40.00. I live in Calgary so the drive to the boarder wouldn't have worked for me, but thanks just the same.

I will let you know of the quality when it arives.
