I have never removed one of these but I am pretty mechanically inclined. Just by the look of your picture I don't think it matters, you will not get that back plate of with out taking both of those allen heads off. What I would be concern with is those clip looking thing on both sides that look like they have tension. Make sure those don't jump out at you with out knowing how they go in there. And make sure you mark that chain to your sprocket and mark the gear in conjunction to the bolts, that way when u put it back there's no way you can b off on timing. Maybe mark one bolt with red n sprocket with a red dot n threads on head with red kinda of a thing. And one link of chain to gear location.

Will apply that when I remove them.

And actually I just got this exploded view...

In that exploded view, the cam have 3 holes on sprocket side. My question is, how do you know the hole in the middle facing front or backward toward cylinder block? If the cam only have 2 holes there is a slit on it and it should facing down... CMIIW

EDIT :
also do I have to remove cam chain tensioner?

Pitrider42, Thanks for pointing that, I will give it a try when the cylinder and piston come ...sorry I have never done before disassembling a 4 stroke motor. I'm afraid to uninstall the electrical from 4 stroke motor especially the timing thing. I have read the KLX110 manual but I still dont have the courage to do it. It looks like day and night between 2 stroke and 4 stroke lol

Hmmm, I just installed my 143 with v2 and the cams 3rd hole was point towards the rear? The cam seemed to only go in the one way....it did fire up and I rode it for like 10 minute to break it in, everything's good so far....once the rockers went in there is no way to rotate the cam 180 degrees

^I see, alright then, Thanks for the info.

Anyway I want to install a new cylinder + piston. But do I need to remove rocker arms and cam?
And when I remove cylinder block, does the magneto should be always in the TDC position?

hmm..so I just answered by myself lol

I have removed the cam sprocket, removed the head without removing rocker arms and cam. It looks like OK. Also there are no knocking or clicking, etc when run the motor, hope it doesn't appear in the future.
And I keep the magneto in TDC position, when I disassembled the head and the cylinder. Just for safety:confused:

So on my part numbers 49118 the cam. The pic show the unused 3rd hole pointing forward. I installed mined facing towards the back. My cam sprocket is correct. But does that mean my cam is 180 degrees out? It's running strong but still just in the break in phase. I dont wanna ruin anything when we go riding??? But you know what, in the pic above the mounting Allen bolts are one up and one in line with tdc which means he probably has an empty female hole below the top one in line....mine uses the 2 vertical holes....I must be good
Actually the 3rd hole that there is no thread on it, it actually facing forward about at 8 o'clock. It uses for Shaft-Comp numbers 13234. So all holes should be in used.
It sounds like your bike didn't have a original kawasaki decomp cam, the cam and the decomp thing should be like my picture above. So i don't know if your cam 180 degrees out will work fine or not, sorry:)

yes that is a decomp cam on the L model electric start 110s. i modded one of these motors when they first came out pain in the ass i put a 143 in mine and just eliminated the decomp it really isnt needed the electric start will turn the motor over without it. to make your life ALOT easier order this i replaced the head on mine aswell but if you are using your stock one just post a pic so we can see the cam holes to see if it will match the sprocket TB Cam Sprocket for KLX110 & DRZ110 2010 UP For TB Race Heads - TB Parts - KLX110 DRZ110 - TBW0645 - TBolt USA, LLC

Yes I clicked it on accident using my phone. Do you goto Vahala?

Ok, so on my cam sprocket does Tdc go towards the front wheel or the rear wheel? And does anyone know how to find a diagram for the TB 143 w/V2 head. I can't even find their website or any diagrams...I pointed it towards the front and the 3rd hole towards the rear which was the only way it would go. Unless I take the cam all the way out and rotate it 180....but the bike runs real strong the way it is but I want to do it right, I thought I knew what I was doing ? Lol tnx for the help
