I'm bored, and a crafty mofo, and I was considering extending the stock swingarm (with my welding skills, obviously). I was just wondering if anyone has ever done this before? I think I'd try extending it, and move the upper brace to a slightly different angle to compensate (and lengthen it as well).

Even if I messed up, aftermarket swingers aren't really costly nor are stock ones. :p

well, you could, but you would have to re-enforce it somewhat

think about it,the stock swinger isnt that strong, make it longer and your putting quite a bit more pressure on it

i guess you could, but i sure as hell wouldnt ride it

Well, I am doing it right now at the moment. , and it might not really be worth it but I have a tonne of spare time for the next week and have nothing better to do. I'm still waiting on parts to get this thing running again, and well.. I GUESS I WILL SEE WHAT I CAN MOCK UP.

I'll be able to reinforce it more than enough though, it should be fine. I think I'm going to extend it about 3".

oops, here's a picture.. finished it quite a few days ago, and it works swell... Here's a picture after a muddy day at the mx track. I have some new forks on the way, hence why the front end is off.

I just have to make a chain roller now and it's good to go, forever. :p

The tire is on the way :p as with some new pegs

Oh, and the columns that I replaced (and extensions I made) are with 3/4" thick SOLID steel rod. It's about 5 pounds heavier now, but it's beefy as hell.

My friends (two 180+ pound guys) even hit the track at the same time and took some prtty hard jumps and didn't bend it or tweak it in the smallest way.
