Hey friends. I'm new here. looking for info I am trying to rescue a lil Orphan Honda 60 bike. Back in the day it seemed Honda was smart keeping the power output low on there dirt bikes with the intent of the bikes lasting for ever. The 83 and 84 CR 60 must have broken the mold. As I have read it was a lil power house. I have a hobby shop so we travel around buying lots of airplanes all over Texas and other close States The last trip was down south...Near Bay city.tx. As we pulled in I saw an ultra light plane in bad shape. A power chute 3 wheel cart and under a lean 2 poking out of the 3 foot grass was a handle bar.
I investigated like any true biker enthusiast would do and ended up with 2 bikes and one Motorized bike all had been flooded with mud slurry covering two 3rds of the bikes that were laid on there sides. Knowing we would need to cut barbed wire, move a stack of bent corrugated roofing and dig them out I was confident the price would be right. Keeping my interest to myself at the end of the negotiation I said " throw in the scrap pile of bikes we have a deal"
The 2002 xr100 and the 84 cr 60 both have the org rubber from factory. Years match. Both look new past the rust mud and faded plastics. both seats look new lol its a trip . I freed up both frozen motors cleaned them up and spent a week rebuilding the 2002. Cause it has spark I started there.
AS YOU CAN SEE they were in bad shape. but 7 or so days and a few bucks... the XR100 or should i say XR120 is a beast. LIKE new with battle scars/
The cr60.....
has problems in the jug Some of what you see is buffing compound to see it it was pitted IM new at this stuff. simple it is buy asking calls I need help. 1st should I try to hone and re ring the stock jug.. if not WHERE THE heck can i find a top end. that is not a small fortune. and KX65 mod... I seen it was a thing. but little info.. any help thank you in advance. Joe
