Just bought two klx110s. 3200.00 out the door for two 2007 110's. i must say they look pretty nasty in the bed of my truck. one belongs to my buddy. i think my first upgrades will be bars, ditching the air box, and skid plate. what do you all think?

for sure bars the stock ones are g** you need some stiffer springs too that should like the 2nd to do next to bars and get a pipe makes such a differance and if you ditch the airbox and get a pipe your gonna have to rejet the carb to. but each there own.

1) Bars

2) stiffer fork springs

3) rear shock or hd shock spring

4a) exhaust

4b) twobros stage 1 kit - includes air filter, GREAT takegawa cam, and jet kit (really wakes the motor up - adds about 2-3 hp with exhaust)

5) tall seat

Those are my recommendations in order.

$3200.00 is a good deal for two "brand new" 110's. You did good. You will absolutely love your 110's.

First go and get longer bolts for your pegmounts. (M8x25mm I believe is the correct size, someone correct me if I'm wrong))

Bars is a great start, you may need a longer front brake cable also depending on the bars you get. Keep the skid plate. Air filter is a good upgrade too. Then springs (front and rear). Then a pipe and jets.

i have been looking at all aftermarket stuff. i'm stuck with my stock exhaust because of where my friends and i ride. we ride a lot of great farms where loud bikes are not permitted, my buddies crf150r was too loud. i will drill out the restricter plate at the top of the head pipe to help.

Ok if you have sound restrictions then leave the motor and pipe alone. You can even leave the airbox alone too. Instead get a 39 tooth rear sprocket. That will give you much more torque and make it allot funner to ride. Then you can do springs and stuff later.

Just got me a klx110 myself so I have a couple questions as well - why the over the top brake lever, why's it better ? And are the basic i-shock's really that much of an improvement as well as quality or are the higher end ones more considerable ??

what is a stockish pipe???

A stockish pipe is an exhaust that looks stock but isn't . Basically modified head pipe. Leave the rest alone. The stock pipe actually works pretty well for back yard brawling and as long as you aren't installing a 194 engine, you'll actually do fine. It's all a matter of balance.
