I bought a bad ass mod off this site about a month ago. The thing rips compared to my stocker and I love it, but today when I was riding it ended up getting stuck in 3rd gear. Once before it got stuck in neutral and i kept trying to shift it and it finally went into gear. I have tried to shift up and down a hundred times and nothing happens? How hard is it going to be to fix? Any help is much appreciated!

Bike is 2005 klx 110
138 kit
Takegawa R head
Stroker Crank
Cable Clutch
3 speed

I personally would start by draining the oil and looking for any metal chunks. If there's chunks yer splitting cases. If no metal take your side cover off on the clutch side and start looking at the operation of the shift mechanism. Could be a broken stud on the shift star??? If everything looks ok with the shift mechanisms then prolly splitting cases. Are you mechanically inclined? Do you have a factory service manual? Check for the spring on the shift mechanism and make sure it didn't break. Does the pedal just flop around with no resistance?

The shifter isn't flopping around. It stays in the middle like it should and it goes up and down with normal resistance(just doesn't go in gear) and returns like normal. I am not that mechanically inclined but my good friend and neighbor are. I'm sure they will be willing to help. I downloaded the complete service manual. Thanks for the info I will start with the oil and then side cover. Thanks.
