Z50 to CRF50 conversion buildup thread!!

I decided I am going to run a 70 swingrrrrr, and 70 forks too eventually, so it shouldn't be a big deal!

Holy crap, this is the sweetest bike I have ever seen:

This bike is SO sweet! I think there is a spacer or something that I am missing in the back axle, but I cant figure out what it is... I will have to look on my other Z.

03 XR70 swingarm/motor/taka 88/painted sides/80 carb (I think)

81 Z50 rear rim, hubs, drums, forks

04 CRF50 frame/lower +1 legs (thanks doug!), plastics, FMF exhaust

Still needs lower fork legs, brakes done, lighting kit done, chain, and a few odds and ends. SO awesome!!!

Oh... since no one noticed, I tryied to make it a good bit like my old XR50 in my sig.

Lookin' good bud...good choice on the tyres - they put a massive footprint down in the dirt.

There is a spacer that goes on the sprocket side of the rear wheel to center it in the swingarm, you might have to modify it to keep the chain alignment correct.

Looks like China has seen this thread. They have now released the new CRF/Z50R knockoff.

Damn I just did that, too. My Z is busted to hell and my friend went to jail and had flat tire on his crf. So I switched them and it handles soo good. I love it!

Socal50 - RCM released your bike 5 years ago and I think there are still a gazillion sitting in a warehouse somewhere because nobody wanted to buy them at $600-$700 a pop, and they had a working headlamp and taillamp.

There was posts on PM about those back in 2004-2005.

Luckily my total cost on this bad boy=$very low maybe even less than $300 after I get all my extra parts sold...
