Well it's only the 3rd oil change the bike is still very new but hey if somthing is wrong then my engine is simply grinding down what's getting in the way and once it's all nice and ground off then my bike will be faster than ever, MU HA HA HAAAAAAAA.

Honda, Kawi, Daytona etc,, they all will bits like this in the oil.

Likewise, don't see much metal at all in my 124SE filters.

How many oil changes have you done? You should see what comes out of a YZ 450 when its new!!

How often do you change your oil? We change ours after every other ride day and it has some shavings but not like that.

Ours used to come out looking like that though when my son was first learning to use a clutch.

I dont know how i feel about that much metal. My brother had a c70 that he ran used oil in, and has 7,500 miles on it, and we ripped it apart and inside there wasnt even that much metal shavings. On top of this it was screamed out for extended periods of time. I would tear it down to see what is looks like inside.

The only time i ever saw metal shavings / a glitter affect like that was when the bottem end bearing exploded on my 88.

The haters like to hate, that doesn't change, but let me restate the point to this thread, the oil filter that comes in these new lifan engines is awesome, it filters out all the nasty little flecks that most of you don't realize is in your engines.

So if you're looking at buying a new engine then this is the one to get.

Think of it this way...the only place you get aluminum from in this motor is going to be from either the Piston or if the timing chain is so slack that it is rubbing on the engine case. There is really no other place for aluminum to come from.

I'd say 90% of the metal particulate in your oil is from your clutches. One of the reasons why it is so important to have an oil filter on your wet clutch type motors. The automatic and manual clutches do an efficient job with the slings but a filter has got to be better for sure.

By the way, for anyone using a Lifan 150...throw the filter it comes with away as soon as you get it and replace it with the proper Honda part. I change the filter with every 2 oil changes on my bike.
