124 dohc isnt even fast, u put it in a mid size and it cant get outta its own way. The 160 4v is super fast! almost as fast as my 195r, it just revs more as my 195 pulls way harder

Spit was hanging with you with a little 10" 124se last night. It all depends on the set up and the track.

The best motor I've ridden to date was my brothers tak dohc in a reeg 70.I've rode a 180+R last night and is really fast but over all hp doesn't win races.

Actually I have a 2 valve 138cc old Superhead engine, that when put into a KLX frame will probably do just fine against your 195 +R. There is so much more to a good bike than just displacement.

To answer the original question, I'd say it's about options (as has been mentioned). And many people prefer to use Honda style engines for a variety of reasons, one being they're about TWENTY pounds lighter than a KLX110 engine. And never underestimate a snappy revving, small cc engine in a good chassis.

I beg to differ. A good friend of mine has a Midsize Pro w/ a DOHC and rips on it. He prefers it over his perimeter KLX.

AMEN!!!

It is all about power to weight!!

Another thing people sometimes forget, weight makes a difference! If your bike is 1HP faster but you're 10lb heavier.... you don't have an iota of advantage in most situations.

yea i feel that with my klx125 build, it's about 185lbs and about 21hp but the added weight makes it feel like a 16hp x4 lol.
