So Has Any One On Here Had A Clutch Explode(is what I am thinking) And Break Through The Side Cover? I Know Some Issues Are Not Posted And I Have Never Seen This Happen Before, So I Thought I Might Ask Others Who Might. I Havn't Torn It Apart Yet. But Saterday Is When It Happend And The Motor Just Locked Up And Quit. There Was Oil Every Were And That Is When We Noticed The Side Cover Has Spider Cracks And A Small Hole. I Will Take Come Pics Of The Damage Once I Get Into It.

well thanks for the replies but you guys are wrong. I will get pics. the clutch nut is still tight.WE ALSO TIGHTENED IT WHEN WE REPLACED THE OILSLINGER. . But I have never seen one do this. not even on a jailing.

j did the slinger nut come loose? what about the style slinger you are running, i have seen the aluminum ones seperate from the steel portion

huh? looking at the first pic it looks like a full steel slinger. what are you running on the other side of the crank?

Doug,

the nut is still tight and the oil slinger is still on the shaft so a loose oil slinger was not the case either. this is a stock one not a lightened one with the steel sleeve. I have seen those come apart and never lock up the motor, or break this shaft. This is a local rider's motor. He has a IRK on the other side.

Could it be from having the IRK on one side and the full slinger on the other? Causing an unbalancing act? I've seen a few slingers break but thats on guys motors that run some serious RPM and a built.

Was the guys motor stock? That sucks for sure.

the motor is bone stock. magiks I don't think that should have anything to do with it. I run the opposite a stock flywheel with lightened oilslinger and don't have any issues. Not to mention how many people out there run this combo or my combo and never have I seen this happen.

The oilslinger was tight firepower as I really can see even a loose one causing the shaft to snap. but I guess anything is possible after seeing this.
