I've been through every thread on inner rotor kit wiring thread on here and of course each thread has different colored wires compared to what I have. Do I use the box that comes with the IRK or the box I used with the flywheel?

CDI has

red wire

brown

yellow

2 greens

IRK has

black

white

we have tried it with the box that came with the IRK and nothin. The box that came with the IRK has 2 green, white, brown, red. A black and white come from the motor, and the coil has a green and black male fitting.

This is a 08 Pitster x4 with yx150, and supposably the stock GPX IRK. I believe we might have been sent the incorrect box with the IRK.

140 and 150 Wiring

There are 5 Wires coming out of the CDI. They are White, White and Red, Yellow and White, Green with female coupler, and Green with Ring terminal.

The White wire just connects to the white wire coming out of the engine.

The White and Red wire has two female bullet connectors it connects to the Black wire coming from the engine and the Black and White wire coming from the kill switch.

The Yellow and White wire has a female coupler and connects to the black side of the coil.

The Green Wire with a female coupler connects to the green side of the coil.

The Green wire with a Ring terminal gets grounded to the frame. I usually ground it out with the ground coming from the Kill switch behind the coil.

vince,

he is trying to wire up a IRK that he installed. not a new engine that came with one. the colors you posted above aren't going to help him since his are different. I posted above you with his correct colors and how to wire them.
