I am wondering what would be the better bike. I have read up on many bad things about the sdg, but my neighbor has one and that thing works good. I have also come across the Icons. I hear the Icon 90 is a great bike, and very fast, at a good price. Some people were saying that if you get the 50x, and put an 88cc kit in it that it will be a better bike than the 90x. Will it actually be and overal better bike? Thanks

i dont have expierence on any of these bikes but from wat i hear the icon 50 is nice since it interchangable with honda parts but i was at a cycle shop and they had the sdg generation 3 and said all the bugs were suposedly fixed but idk they let me ride it and it was nice but i rode it on the side walk lol my dad was like buy it... i was like HELL NOO cause of all the horror storied i hear about them lol. since i knew the owner of the store i couolda had ot for 1,700 bucks but i said i stick to honda quality lol

the sdg is a rip off and is not easily upgraded, the 90 has compatibility issues and not the most reliable motah. the 50 is very compatible and very easly upgraded.

copy bikes suck, if your looking for a bike to play on for a month or two and sell for 600$ less than you paid i guess its ok. if you are planning on staying in the sport, honda is the only way to go.

For those who know me, there is no doubt as to which bike I voted for. I'm stoked with my SDG and so are my buddies. There will always be issues with newer bikes, but SDG seems willing to work with those who had problems. Other people will say otherwise, but those are usually the guys posting "distruction pics" and the bikes has never been maintanced and jumped off of the roof one too many times. You would think that these guys would learn to atleast wash their bikes before they take the pic and claim that they take care of them. No credibility.

freeagent your an ass

why wash a broken bike? not trying to say it was never ridden, saying it was ridden and it broke! ill go wash it right now if thats what matters to you hahaha.

the owner of the sdg is pissed, what to know why????

hes still making payments on a bike that fell apart while he was riding it on a track, not a big bike track, a 50 track. smitty is now pissed at the dealer and refuses to admit problems to anyone, so whats my freind supposed to do?

i would fix it myself if the parts were compadible with the xr50, but there not so i cant do anything to help. the sdg was setup and sold for and adult rider, its name tells you to go fast and jump, but this dont work when the kickstarter dont turn the engine over, the frame looks like stock and the triple clamp is snapped into peices.

your lack of info makes you lose credibility, and makes you seem like a tool.

maybe if i kissed sdg ass all day they would fix this POS bike in my garage!!!!

That’s the funniest thing I have heard all day. I wrote SDG close to 10 emails and got absolutely NO response on any. I called numerous times and got no response either. Once I finally got a hold of this Smitty guy he flat out told me that a broken frame, sub frame, shock, pipe, and locked valves where all due to the way I ride and that under no circumstances would he even think about helping me out. Go to the SDG's speed mini warranty page. It has said "under construction" since the speed mini came out. Proud of their products, I THINK NOT!!! Build a bike from the ground up. You will be way more satisfied.

Why do you post under two screen names here on Planet Minis?

When you guys post pics of bikes that are covered in mud it says a lot about the way that you ride and how you choose to take care of your machines. Judging by the way these bikes look in the pics, I wouldnt let you donkeys get within 10 feet of my bike, or anything else that I care about. And heres a little tip for anyone who wants to give a sad little story to SDG about how they were letting their kid brother ride their mini in the parking lot and and the frame bent. If you washed your bike and atleast TRIED to make it LOOK like it was ridden in a parking lot, you might get farther. The goons on this site have got to be the worst liars ever. You guys remind me of Jackass the movie. The part in the beginning when they rent the car, then they take it to the destruction derby and destroy the thing. The look on the rental guys face was priceless  When the guys at SDG see those pics, it is no wonder they don't bother returning your calls

  • I just wanna know if this goon is related to richie over at 50 cal somehow?

its a DIRT bike, it was a SOFT and WET track. after it broke there wasnt a need to wash it, simple as that. shit he was so pissed it was broke im not surprised he doesnt want to look at the thing. because a DIRT bike was dirty doesnt mean it was abused! now i understand why your not breaking anything, you must ride on your culdesac in suburbia.

my bikes been that dirty and its held up fine.. what about everyone else has dirt ever broken your bike to peices?
