Hi guys me and my son moto X together our father son time we want to build our 2002 crf50 to keep up with the ktm pro sr. that they let race in his class were thinking about 88 big bore kit any suggestion the kid can ride he just needs the power to use his talent

Overall if you have equal riders the 2 strokes will always take off. No shifting and a lot more plush suspension. Just get a Cobra and you will have less headaches then the KTM's and you will have a fast bike.

Normally in the classes there are CC limitations. Most are 50cc limitations unless you are running an open class. But in the open class most 2 strokes are running 60cc bikes.

i like those KTM50s. too bad they are sooo pricey. what i want tho is the SX65 ktm those are bad as f*ck. i saw one today and it looks good and its about the size of o perimeter crf and it had 35mm forks and damn its just a nice bike. in my opinion

I totally Agree^^^ Your going to run into cc Limit issues sooner or later someone will complain and there goes your investment and the 88 and even 106cc will not be competetive against the 50cc seniors...they rip!!

Get a Cobra they are Very reliable

That will be a challenge. I have a 6 year old (7 next week) that I tried this with about 9 months ago. I put an 88 kit with TB race head on it. I also bought zokes and a red Baron swinger. lotsa bling. He is way, actually WAY faster on his KTM Pro Senior. The KTM/Cobra/LEM/Polini is the way to go for sure if you want him to be fast.

He still likes to ride his Honda but his KTM is his race bike. The KTM really builds confidence. The first ride is a little tough to get used to (Very snappy) but once the kid gets used to the power the suspension, light weight bike, and fast bike with out having to shift will make your kid quicker.
