I'm going to be making my rear sets before long so I've got a few questions for the rest of the zb owners out there. I was just wondering how far back/ down your rear sets are making the pegs. It's gonna require a quick trip to the garage with a tape measure. Don't act like that's a big deal, I know all of you make at least a few trips a week to the garage just to look at your bikes.

We'll go with measuring from the swingarm bolt...

How far back are your pegs?

How far down are your pegs?

Is it a remotely comfortable position?

Thanks... I may post teasers when I finish them.

Just measured my G-Craft adjustable rearsets. As you can see in the picture they're currently in what's likely their "most comfortable" position.

Measured from center to center: 105mm back and 85mm down. The adjustability provides roughly 1cm of authority "up", "up and forward" or "up and back" from their current position. There's additional adjustability about 15mm up as well.

They seem to be quite comfortable in their current position but I'm not ridden the bike at all. When that happens, I'll probably adjust them up a bit for better clearance.

I'm sitting on the fence about rear-sets for the zb also. They seem to look very uncomfortable and the stock pegs never scrape in the turns and are cozy too. Maybe i'll just get a set and try em.

I'll get some measurements when I get home. Hopefully this pic give you some idea.

Jordan,

Paunchy has different rearsets then the rest of us. Unless you plan on building a custom exhaust, if you set them too far back, there won't be very many down-pipes that fit without hitting the rearsets. Paunchy has the hand-made up exhaust that routes the same as stock and his rearsets can be adjusted down and farther back.

Thanks for the info. That wouldn't have even crossed my mind until I got an exhaust that didn't fit.

Over Racing's new rearsets are farther back as well and you'll have to run the new Monkey R Over GP pipe or their other pipe that's designed to work with their rearsets.

So at this moment i can only answer one of your questions as i have not had the time to make any measurements with the non adjustable G Craft rearsets.

They are infact very comfortable, I wouldn't want them any higher. At least for myself being 6 foot tall i find it pretty comfy. They are a pretty tight fit with the yosh downswept system. My heal has made contact with the pipe a few times on rides.

I have this problem right now. My exhaust contacts my rearsets. So I had to bend the hanger alittle bit to make clearance. Works but my exhaust hangs alittle lower than others

your situation may also have to do with the fact that you are running a long type cylinder motor (Honda NICE) which puts the exhaust port a good 13mm further forward then the standard app. That in turn pulls the exhuast system routing closer to your rearsets.

As you mentioned noting a little bending cant fix.

How close is the g-craft rearsets to the swinger I see in paunchy's picture there are no spacers. I had to make 2 to make clearance, of course mine are alittle different.

Paunchy has adjustable G-craft rearsets as the Regular disc brake rearsets the rest of us run don't work too well with the MR Racing pipe that Paunchy has as it causes the G-craft Resi to hit the exhaust.

The peg is even with the swingarm bolt, and 3" back(center of bolt to center of peg). I have a 30" inseam, so not too bad for me.

BTW, those are not NSR rearsets. They are Honda Hurricane rearsets. The shift linkage matched up perfect for my application.
