Kurlon have not look into it much further the piston is no problem sealing the head is going to be the issue where the cam chain is it could be welded up to get more surface to match the head or bore off center I think ether way would work but not sure it is worth it the 187 is way to much for most of us

Ok, I'm considering this for a short stroke build, so the displacement would be lower, but I want to make sure the studs have plenty of meat holding them in, etc. Sounds like head gaskets would be the hang up, so I'll continue plotting around a 67mm bore.

i just got one and bolted a CRF250 cylinder on it. suprizingly its a direct fit! man the HP it makes is unreal

Doug put all the teardown pics up a couple months ago.

What's the cam chain pitch and length?

terry the chain isn't the 25 like the 124. i'm not sure what the pitch or the length. i flooded mine the other night and instead of letting it sit i continued to kick it until i got a big old kick back. bam! cracked case. pulled the engine tonight and waiting for my cases so i can get them bored again. i am sourcing bearings for the 57mm crank and thinking of putting in the 65.5mm akunar i have. if so i will keep the compression nice and low. what are your plans?

terry you must have posted while i was typing-haha

Lemme know how the 57mm goes. I was plotting a 59 from a 140 Lifan and 63mm bore size. The 15mm pin makes me less nervous, and Akunar's got some good slugs. I WILL have some sort of de-comp system before it goes together, and it's not likely to be a high comp monster anyway. If the 25 chain can swap in and work with the slipper tensioner, I'll do it. Seems a lot lighter.

Terry are you using the Lifan 140 crank and if so how much difference in the weight between it and the 125 this is what I am thinking of trying I need a bottom end motor or some riding ability engine is the easier way to go

As soon as I find a vendor willing to sell one, I'll let you know:)

Soft tune for me too. I think I used to get around pretty good, but seem to be more in the way anymore...

Yo Kurley, gonna post up the part numbers and pic of the magical items needed to install a Honda crank in a YX? 64x41.5 with a Tak crank for a 135 class contender?

Part numbers? Hah, I wish I was that far along in figuring this out. : ) I'm trying to track down my pic with the Honda CD90 crank end bits and part numbers but it's gone on walk about.

So far I'm thinking Honda crank, going to have to find someone willing to swap rods for me and ideally lighten the crank while they're working it. (Which means I need to track down rod length info...) +R head, 67mm bore or more, and we'll see how it goes from there.

I hadn't even thought about the cam chain, whats the tooth count on the KLX/YX150 cam sprocket, and has anyone laid a Honda cam chain over it to see if it'll match?

I think swapping from the silent type to a 25 would make it easier.

91mm rod on the stock 53 stroker. I know a guy who can help with the rod switcheroo;) Might consider shortening the jug to save getting into an oddball rod. Jug height's posted up. I'm waiting to find the cam c/l to deck and crank c/l to base measurements before I start.
