14hp!!!??? How lame is that? Doesn't the Daytona DOHC have far more power for a comprable cost? Did you dyno these motors dood or you just have experience with them?

Out of the box the Daytona only puts out around 14 hp to, but it's all towards the top end of the revs. The 138 had way more bottom than a Daytona and is easier to ride. (because you don't have to keep it on the pipe so much ) It was a customer build so I didn't get a chance to really mess with the engine. I can see another 4 to 5 hp with engine mods, carb and fuel while retaining way more bottom end than a daytona engine.

My daytona Dohc made 16 stock,The 138 pulls harder dow low but is real close on top compaired to the dohc. That shouldn't be a big suprise since the Dohc is giving up 20cc to the +R

Every dyno is different. I've seen some engines make 15 on one dyno and that same day make 12 on another. I've seen street bikes lose 15+ hp going from dyno to dyno. If you are dead set on dynoing an engine always use the same dyno that you started with and just use it for reference.

If you tune your engine to make the most hp on the dyno, it may not be what you want out on the real world.

I agree about the dynos,I was just stating what mine made and how it felt compared to the 138+R.Mine was on Pax's dyno

Slowracer Is Right Every Dyno Is Different I Used Loads Of Dynos Over The Years On My Modded Vw Gti's And G60 Golf's And They All Vary Depending On Inside And Outside Temps and Weahter condition's Etc Etc And Any Dyno Operator Can Tell You Any Hp To Make You Smile To Use Them Again....

With work.... I could believe it. I was running a 138 Superhead with a bunch of work, and broke past 18HP. So a 138 twinspark with some love should atleast be able to make the same mark.

I would agree it can make the power, just not out of the box untouched

Are you referring to a klx 138 head? I am talking about a crf 138. If you where able to break past 18hp on a crf motor that's very impressive. I've never heard of numbers that high for the crf bottom end.

Yes, a CRF50 bottom end. It was a $7K engine, so I'm assuming it had some extensive work done to it.

18.6HP, rear wheel, DynoJet.

I wasn't bashing your findings. I was just telling you my experience on different dyno's.

How bout 21hp with a CRF based bottom end? And this was with a 119cc engine. Look outside the box.
