ok so i think i may buy one, i know people say there a big improvement, but then i hear people say they grenade the motor faster.

i have a 125 sock jialing motor, i dont plan to put a big bore on this motor, but rather just wait till i run this into the ground or even just replace at the end of winter, but until then i think i want a IRK. i dont know the good and or bad things it can do though so can someone explain pro's and cons? they say the IRK's rev to 15k, well can this motor handle 15k? can someone just explain everything there is that i need to know about an irk?

i planned on buying a motor with one, but since i had a deal fall through on a atc70 i will keep this motor most likely till end of winter or unil i break it. like i said its a stock 125, no plans for bigbore, maybe just a IRK/lightend oil slinger.

would it be better o get a lightend flywheel and a high rev cdi?

All you need to know: An IRK makes the motor spin up and down quicker, potentially stall easier, and have less engine braking and inertia for clutch dumps.

An IRK will not make your motor rev higher than it could before.

A lightened flywheel is a baby step towards the change you get from an IRK.

Your stock CDI doesn't have a rev limiter.

i have lifan 120 with an irk and ive been running the motor 2 years and have had no problems whatsoever with the motor. i also have the motor revved out constantly. you lose torque yes but the horspower is much better in my opinoin. you hafta ride it more like a 2stroke. i like it for any kind of track tight or open.

IRK will less that low end torque for sure. On a stoch 125 I think it would be rad cause the bike is ridden 1/2 to full throttle 80% of the time. I did not like mine on my GPX 150, stalled to easy for me. IMO a lightened fly wheel and slinger is the best combo. Thats what my friend Chris ran on his 146 and it was perfect.
