I am looking to build an 88 race bike. I just wanted to know how fast these motors are. Lets say i bought the new trail bikes 88 race head kit, got it ported by cat 5, put an IRK on it and a TB manuel clutch. Would this be faster than a stock Jialing 125? Also would i have any problems with the clutch being it has an IRK and i am 190lbs? I appreciate the help guys. Post videos of your 88 race head bikes if you have any. Thanks

Go with the trail bikes billet version clutch and you would be all set, as for power 88 good 24mm carb and inner rotor will spank a stock jialing even with an auto clutch.

We're doing pretty good with Lifan BV heads transplanted on 88's.

That sounds like it would work pretty good. To do that you wouldent use one of the dowl pins inbetween the cylinder and the head correct? Is there a piston that can provide enough compression for that? And can u still keep the o-ring inbetween the head and the cylinder?

Both dowels, with a little extra effort. Kitaco SE piston's best, but Akunar's got some good options too. O-ring can stay.

sorry in advance for the thread jack....

how does the old tb88 race head with b manual clutch compare to a stock say gpx125? i have the tb88 rh and have always wondered this.

back on topic, my bike rips with the race head but i've only rode a stock lifan 125 in a stunter and a stock klx110.

Both bikes are TB 88 R/H kit, the white bike was the new head, the green bike was the old head.

I ran that with a hv oil pump and a tb hd auto clutch and it ripped great.

A knockoff never had a chance.

Thanks man both bikes seemed to ripp pretty good! Can you tell a decent power difference between the old head and the new head? Also those tracks look like a ton of fun!

Thanks for the tips!!! I am going to consider using one of these heads since i can get them cheap and they have good cam options. Do you guys think that the lifan head with a TB300 cam would be a faster setup than the new TB racehead?

My motor was fresh and the other motor had over 50 hour on it so it wasn't a true side by side comparison, but very little from what i could tell.

I can say the new head ripped.

the 88 dosent have to be together for round 5. I have a X4r with a 124se for 12 inch rockstar, a bbr perimeter with the 124se i have been working on for 10 inch rockstar and i would like to build a 88 racebike to race next year. I know i have a lot going on but i never stop with these pitbikes. I like them better than my big bike

Yup. Lots faster. Valve and port sizes are Tak superhead sized.

dohc, 5 speed manual clutch, 28mm carb, rotor kit, oil cooler, and probably a couple more stuff to make it bad.

is it even possible to had a dohc with a 88?
