I am looking to get a newer 2 stroke and just wondering what the compression readings should be at so the bike is not going to blow up for a long time? Thanks a ton.

Depending if it is stock or not, from my 125 days, 175 and above. Some of my race motors were like just over 200, but I had them as low as 145 and still haulin. But 175 is a good target

if yer comp is below 100lbs ( with the throttle held wide open ) you prolly need a new top end.
Most 125 engines of todays era should be in the 150 range.
If more than that and the engine smokes excessively, you may need to replace the crank seals because there is tranny oil getting in there and giving the guage a false reading.
Even if you comp is good, it's still a good idea to replace the piston every so ofter because the piston itself wears out and if you continue to run it the piston could crack and then.....
