Hey guys, I've had my 50 for about 3 weeks now and wanted to know what that machine gun looking cover (the thing with the holes in it) is on the stock exhaust. What does it do? I want to know if I can remove it or not. Btw, here's my 50. Just went for a quick ride today.
Can I remove this of my stock 50 exhaust?

it's a heat shield. protects you leg from the pipe.

proved me wrong, I always thought it was a cheeze grater. Ive found it can offer smooth and consistant shredded cheeze for those at the track nachos.. good times. Sell a few bunches o nachos and go get a nice new pipe for that scooter..

I just thought it would look better and shave some weight. But, I don't want it any louder. Does it change the sound of the exhaust at all?
