Back to the drawing board.... ;-)

I'm still crackin up...maybe the right rotor is mounted on the....hmmm...no.... that won't work....oh maybe it's on the....no???.....yes back to the drawing board

Ok, so this got my gears turning. On the Pro Mini version of those forks, (And Pax's upgrade kit) the caliper in use is a Nissen two pot clone. Honda NSR50s use the cloned Nissen two pot on their front brake, but it's for the other side...

So, I've got a matching set of calipers, left and right. All I need is a second dropout with caliper mounts (they're centered on the dropout, so no custom work there) and a reverse caliper bracket. The bracket should be easy enough to have duplicated, it's just a piece of steel with two posts, and two threaded holes.

This leaves me the issue of where to mount a second rotor. That I haven't quite sorted. My first thought was to use a rear SDG style hub, and lace a 14" wheel to it. The bolt pattern on the sprocket is slightly smaller than that of the front rotor, but there is plenty of meat on the rotor to drill new bolt holes, so an easy problem. Not so easy is the minor detail that the hub is much wider than a front hub. So that's out.

Option two would be to weld up mounting lugs on my existing front hub, but I dunno how well that'd work on a cast hub?

Oh well, it's an amusing idea, I'd be more apt to try this with my NSR50 front end as that's where I need the extra brake capacity. Fortunately there I can just get an adapter bracket to mount a 4 pot Brembo. Actually, if you can mount a Brembo on my front end, you should be able to whip out a bracket to do the same on these Zochs....

i got a set of zoke drop outs new for sale

lol. you can look at the dropout and tell it is a 2nd left leg.

I had the dual rotor thing going 4 years ago, didnt follow through with it because there wouldnt have been a market. My first set of billet wheels has both sides of the front hub drilled for rotors even.

I would just do it the easy way with the Twin G-craft Hub and hanger for use with NSR50 fork legs, 220mm Braking Rotors and Twin 4 pot or Radial Brembos. However, I think my 4 pot is going to be plenty in the grand scheme of things.

It's a mini bike and the 4 pot is overkill for heavens sake, but it sure is fun to talk about..

And Honda uses a geniune Nissin Caliper on the NSR50's here in the USA. It's the cheap overseas replica Nissins you must be thinking of. All my NSR50 calipers have "Nissin" cast into them.

Yeah, bad verbiage on my part. My NSR50's original front brake was a Nissin, the one I'm running was a clone I had that was in better shape. I didn't mean to imply the ones Honda sourced were clones, just that the ones on my Pro Mini were clones of the Nissins mounted on NSR50s.

Dual disc on my 70 would be nice if I play at Loudon with any aggressiveness. I blued my rotor quite nicely at the pace I was going, which was well off race pace, pushing harder would likely warp it fast. With dual discs I could spread the heat.

On a dirt machine, OVERKILL!
