I finally got to race against several GPX motors with 146 kits. They were pretty quick (but my 143SE seemed quicker) but 3 out of 5 had problems that night so.....they were all brand new motors too, I heard alot of moaning about them this weekend anyway...

Posts like this always give me a good giggle. These engines are designed and built to be what they are.I don't know about the Xtreme, but the GPX was originally a 124cc engine with tons of power and torque.Like 8 HP if memory serves.Well let's add this, get one of those, tweak that, put this other thing on.The next thing you know you've got a 146cc or bigger engine that puts out say 16 HP.Gee,I wonder if some thing will break?

Here's my 2 cents: I have both a 2nd Gen Xtreme tranny Cr2, Xtreme SCR Cr4, and a Jailing/GPX. All have pros and cons, both the GPX and the original Xtreme tranny 1st gear is pretty much useless, the plus with the GPX is that I can leave it in 2nd gear and stop and start it, using the plant as a properly geared 3 speed tranny. The SCR tranny would be the elite if only it was in a "Sart in any gear" setup. One can only hope that Pitster will put enough pressure on Jailing to develop a close ratio 4 speed for the GPX.

I have to say that the combination of an SCR Xtreme tranny topped off with a 124se +R top end is definately a 146cc Import killer, but it's hard to beat the power gains vs $$$ with an import 146 BBK w/ Lifan BVH.

As for the Warranty on the Cooper Xtreme SCR tranny "1 yr limited warranty".

Personally I have piloted an Xtreme Typhoon SCR power plant equiped with a 150cc +R TB top end, and to get one of these into a pit bike chassis would be an all white knuckles ride!!!

GPX kick start = POS!

The kick start problems with both the 4up and 1dn 3up gpx's are becoming more well known as more people break cases because of this issue.

Don't let anyone tell you it's just because of the way you are kicking it over.

If you're NOT abusing your gpx when kicking it over and it hasn't failed, great!

It will fail sooner or later regardless. Bump start the f'er and you'll be ahead of the game.
