Hey,

anyone that owns a New 2007 Pitster with a stock oem GPX notice any Vibration?

"This was just brought to my attension" I know of a couple of guys that have X4's and Both Have a serious Vibrations in the Motor, One of the guys is a Motorcycle Technition and removed the clutch cover to find Excesive play in the Output shaft causing the Clutch Basket to rub the Shift shaft. other possible non related issues have also appeared

They will be taking some pictures and when I get them I will post them up for what to look for

anyone

sorry if im threadjacking but when i put my bike into gear i feel it grab then makes a like screech noise what could that mean?

and when i down shift i hear that sound to and the motor makes all my plastics shake like crazy

could the clutch problem yous said be causing that kind of shakeing aswell?

did you try adjusting the clutch?

hey kevin, its funny you say this,,..... the gpx i got from you has a vibration feeling inside the motor.. it kinda sounds like a whirring noise and kinda like its running "dry" no lube.. i have done several oil changes and notice no metal in it... anything you think you can do to help? i havent really run the bike much since im kinda nervous of causing any damage...

thanks alot in advance!

One thing to look at is pull the clutch cover off and check to make sure there is no burs on the on the plunger that pushes on the clutch to disingauge it also make sure the arm moves free I have foum both these problems before hope this helps

The basket on my old gpx was rubbing the bolt holding the detent arm. It rubbed the head to the point you couldn't use a wrench on it. The basket always had a lot of play in it side to side and in and out.

I have seen what you are talking about Mello... Ive had 1 GPX out of the 6 or so that has run "super smooth" but it was actually the older 1D-3up model.

alot of the Vibration issues and Noises are Skid Plate, the Cylinder Fins tweeking, head pinging, Pipe rattles ive chased more than a few.

Well Dave That motors is (fresh) as in Factory new that had 1 hour and 10 min on you know that you have had the Case cover off so many times that maybe the pin for the oil sling is out of place other than that they make noises as you se from everyone....ride it keep the oil changed frequently and get another carb for it.
