My dad thinks the gpx engine is just some cheap chinese engine. I used to have a sikkmx pit bike and the engine was junk with false nuetrals and stuff. What can i tell him to change his mind. I told him its a good quality engine that pitster has been running for some time now but that doesnt seem to get the point threw.I also told him there are tons of aftermarket parts for it so if something happened it would be easy to fix. What are some specs and some things that i could tell him to show him that its a good motor.

have him read the many posts on this forum regarding the GPX. There are many threads with inteligent posts regarding the pros and cons of the motor. Has your dad suggested an alternative to the GPX? Maybe he wants to build a Honda, if he can afford it.

i hate to tell you, but on my brand new pitster i have hit "false neturals" coming down from 3rd to 2nd and from 2nd to 1st.

Yea, i heard that the new pitster's gpx motor dont flase nuetral. From what i here they have no problems. Is there something i should know.

I have an X2, that doesnt even matter cause its the same GPX engine in all of them.... about 2 or 3 times out at my friends track i would come into a corner in 3rd and shift down and i would get on the gas and it would act like it was in netural, and i would have to tap it down again to put it in gear. maybe i just wasnt pressing all the way down...

Yea, maybe you didnt push it down all the way. Ive dont that a couple times on my 110. I now clutch when i shift on my 110 though. Its alot smoother.

Your dad is right gpx is a cheap china motor that will fall apart in no time.Don't waste your money I have a couple and have had broken casses.Save your money and buy a real bike like a klx much better bike with a hell of alot more dependible motor.

hahah Funny I'm not the only one that has problems with side casses.Funny I have been riding bikes for 30 years and have never had issues with anyother bike Iv'e had.I have a couple lifans that have never gave me problems. The gpx is way overrated.

well we race the gpx motors every weekend. got awsome results on them last weekend. We havn't had any issues. I will agree the 1dwn 3up trannys did have some issues but the 4up trannys are reliable IMO and are holding up well. I have a hard time believing your lifan tranny is doing so well from the ones I have riden but I will take your word for it.

My friends HONDA broke cases on a little fall, it doesnt matter if it is honda or GPX, all of the weight you you is on THE CASES! Only 2 bolts hold it up with the pegs mounted to the bottom, thats alot of stress on th case.....
