Hey,

Just wondering about the "other" fiddys out there. Mostly interested in streetriding and FreestyleMX.

The Polini X3 is a 2-stroke. makes 7hp! (stock XR50 makes 2.5hp), already has tall suspension and disc brakes. Anyone ever ride one? Obviously it is illegal in most of the fiddy MX classes out now, but how would it work for streetriding and jumps??

Also, the KTM 50Senior is similar. 2-stroke, tall suspension (Marzocchi forks!) 12" front wheel and disc brakes stock.

Polini is really interesting because it only costs $1700 and already has most of the mods you would do to an XR.

The KTM is over $2300, so its not so inviting, but seems to have high quality components...

Anyone have any thoughts?

Two completely different animals all of the 50 2-strokes normaly peak for 8 year olds, XRs are for everyone and the events now that are XR only are now drawing more people to the track than the two stokes and besides that my kid was shifting gears and learning how to be multi-task on the bike while the kids on the 2-strokes only had to turn the throttle so what does this mean, the transition to the 65cc was incredibly easy.XRs Rule, and don't forget to check out Frank Tucker in xr 50 gallery.

whats the fun in getting one of those? u can't buy any trick parts for them (big bore kit, plastics, graphics, etc) there loud (neighbors get pissed off) can;t switch gears which wouldn't let u control the power as much and its a 2 smoke. you hav to mix gas, do top end more, burns more gas and doesn;t hav enough bottom end power to lug 180lbs around unless ur pinning it everywhere.

my bro just sold his kx60 and when i rode it it could barly pull me (i weigh 180lbs) it was crap if u ask me xr is the way to go!

cr107

If you want a bike with all the nice suspension components and motor mods just go out and buy one of the new Xtreme CR107's i have one and it is awsome! Costs $2,150 otd at TNTMotorSports Hesperia CA.

I picked up a CR-107 a couple of weeks ago to get a closer look, but took it back the next day when I saw what a POS that thing is. It's definitely not Honda quality, but what do you expect for a bike that retails for $1995 with that much stuff on it? It might be okay for putting around the pits on, but it certainly isn't something I'd want to go around a track on. And with so many of them making the pits louder these days, they have no personality like a built XR does when it's tricked out. I'll pass.

Xtreme Racing 50s

4-strokes are easier to wheelie! 2-strokes don't the engine compression to slow the bike down when you let off of the throttle. Plus they are loud and you always have to be on the pipe. If not they will load up on you and run like crap.

I own both an XR50 and a KTM 50 Pro JR. My son(6) races a 50 and 65 KTM . The KTM and Polini would not be the best choice for adults play riding. They are a pure bred race bike for kids. You would break it the first jump you hit. My son breaks his everytime he rides it. The XR on the other hand was built to be a trouble free yard bike for kids. Also 4 strokes have more torque than a 2, which helps pull adults that refuse to grow up(like me) around.

thats what i think is the main reason is the torque and its gonna just eat up that auto clutch 4-stroker is where its at for a good play bike!!

Are you joking? Polini and KTM 50s? 8O These things break all the time just like the lil cobras...plus what fun would it be if they did hold up? they are loud and obnoxious (sp) it'd be like riding with your friend with a raptor660 and you on a trx90...noooo fun
