I am finally sick of my RCM triple clamps looking like crap with the coffee like anodizing so i took them off and i am going to get them painted or anodized. I got a couple questions first.

1. Which one will be faster

2. Which one will be cheaper, about how much does it cost?

3. Anodizing will be more durable right?

Thanks andrew!

powder coating is a little pricey but if you dont like the coffee color it can be done. also itll hold up well... i love my rcm how long did it take before yours faded? im suprized its held up better thean my honda chassis.
well i got them off vince as blems, and they looked fine for awhile then they just fell off the edge all of a sudden and faded, took about 3 months. Only the bottom clamp looked bad the top wasn't bad.

yea i mean these forks are champs i hit 30 foot step down with them and it feels like im on a 110 or a crf 150. man sand paper thoose babies down and then polish the alum it should look sweet.
ya i already polished them but i dont like it, blends in to much, lol im to picky i guess. But ya these forks do rock!

Be careful to mask off the holes if you PC, that stuff is thick. Ano will look more pro, and it is suprisingly not expensive. Most Ano places might even throw them into another batch of the same color and save you a lot charge.

well i mean im relaly not into the loosk appeal of my bike over proformance but i dont know what you mean... kinda pushes me buying a dressup kit... but thast gonna hold off till i get my 145 bore with longer stroker crank and stroke it to a 153 and put a z40 in her... as for the forks they are not coffeee? and there polished alum mind you go take some pics.? also what colour were they before?

also my nieghbor owns a huge powder coating buisness here in SAn diego... i could maybe cruise my 50 over tehre and ask him how much the clamps would be rough estimate from him... im geussing itll be around 50$$ but i mean if you really want it. it can be done.

sand paper will not do it very well..Anodizing is in the pores of the aluminum. When you anodize, your opening the pores, then, coloring them, then closing the pores. Go with anodizing, or go to someone that anodizes and have them drop it in the acid stripper. If I'm right its sulfiric acid. You might be able to find some stuff to take if off if you do a little research online. I know there are a few chemical strippers but I can't remember the name.

well if i have them anodized i have a co worker that rides quads and is always getting stuff anodized and he is always telling me that if i want something smal done to let him know a couple weeks ahead of tiem cause if they run that color he could get it for me done for cheap.

BTW thanks for the tip trailpimp

And i really am not into the look of my bike either, but somethings i just hate looking bad. And in the pic of my bike in the garage in my signature u can kinda see the blems on the side, it was worse right in front. Ill get pics in a second.
