I am considering either the Takegawa 138 +R kit or the Kitaco 143 SE kit along with a stroker crank for my DRZ-110. Can anyone tell me which is the better bolt-on kit? The bike will be ridden supermoto not MX.

Thanks,

Dan

Honestly, on a full bolt on top end. The 143SE will take it. The +r is a better head with more potential, but only really comes alive when you do a stroker crank as well. The 143SE is the best bang for your buck and requires the least work for the most gain.

I have not ridden the 143 but the 138+R screams! I would say the +R for supermoto due to the fact that the +R head allows you to rev the $#!* out of your motor. I also agree that the 138+R needs a stroker crank to be a perfect set up.

For supermoto, you're probably going to want to go for as high RPMs as possible.

Unless you're running a lot of short courses, then you want torque to pull you out of the corner.

Ironically, I'm having a similar discussion offline with someone now.

i got my brand new Kitaco 143SE for under $600....so you can definatly find a deal on that. AND THE KIT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I have it with a two bros crank, and the thing rippppssssssssss

143se is a good kit but the 138+R is better,, especially on a road bike becuase the R kit will rev to the moon!!! that is what you want when you are motarding a bike is high revs. But even if you were going to put it in the dirt the 138+R kit is the way to go. I have both the 138 and 165 +R kits on my bikes.

Side Note: I just rode my Girlfriends KLX110 with two brothers stroke, Stock Piston, And Ported and Polished stock head, with stock suspension, and auto clutch. That thing is so f@@@ing fun it's Ridiculous. My partner was passing fully modded bikes and just pulling away at starwest,,, it was sick!!!

the 138+r for motard is wayyyy better then the 143Se any day just run the different cam for it they sell them sepparate its a 25 or a 35 cam for motard and that where you pull the 20 hps cuz the dyno with street tires.the 143Se is a dam good engine and thats what going back in my 2nd bike but either will serve its purpose,so what ever you can afford will be good.

Both are very good with or without a stroker crank. It really depends on the money you can spend, your riding style, and how much torque you want / can handle and actually use.

Best bang for buck = Kitaco 143 SE

Most potential for maximum torque & RPM's = Takegawa +R kit

Big Hp

Unfortunately I outweigh the competition, so I need some big HP and torque.

How about this: 138+R, 55mm stroker, VM26 carb, Tokyo Mods digital ignition, Kitaco inner rotor & supercoil???? This would be the money-no-object dream build-up.

take off the inner rotor and add a paxracing 7mm stroker with the 35 cam and your good to go.
