If i get the gytr big bore kit (have a chance to get one cheap) do i have to have a HF air filter and big bore exhaust...it will be easy for me to get a filter and jet kit but do i absolutly have to get the exhaust cuz it might take me a little while to get the moeny for it...

thanks in advance for your info

The air filter and jets come with the BBK, you will still need to drill out the jet that comes in the BBK to make it richer (at least I did in FL) it was way to lean. As far as the pipe get the FMF pipe, a lot cheaper than the GYTR pipe and sounds, looks and functions great. You could leave the stock pipe on but you will not fully benefit from the BBK but would still run good I would imagine, especially if you punched out the end of your stock pipe.

I also had to drill out the jet in my BBK(i just ordered a few extra sizes). You are def goona want to wait to put the kit on till you get an exhaust, it'll be worth the wait. Def don't get the GYTR exhaust, not worth the price and depending on what tire you are useing the pipe will hit the tire if you bottom out. And lastly the difference between the GYTR and Kitaco is yes 4 ccs but the GYTR comes with the cylinder head and cam already installed saving you time

Takegawa has a 107 kit for around $580 that is a complete kit , but you would diff. need a big bore pipe..

I like the GYTR kit because my Yamaha dealer is 2 miles away so parts are easy to get, I get a good discount through them, and lastly the GYTR kit comes with heavy duty clutch plates, better pressure plate and lastly a high volume oil pump which you will need these things with a BBK kit. Oh and the Cam is already installed.

Why exactly do you need a high volume oil pump with a slightly larger bore and a stock bottom end?

The engineers for Yamaha could probably let you know exactly but maybe the increase in the mean effective pressure in the bigger bore puts more stress on the main bearings and they want them to get plenty of oil flow, or maybe they wanted an increase of oil pumping to control the extra heat the BBK would generate or heck maybe they just know that it won't be a little kid riding it anymore and the stresses on the engine will be alot greater, this is probably the exact reason that the bigger clutch plates and pressure plate is required as well.... extra stress on everything comes when you double the horse power of something. I'm not sure just guessing, but I do know that when I was researching BBK one of the other companies that I looked at said "we suggest you use our high volume oil pump with this kit".

well i picked up the gytr kit...thanks for all the info mike...i think im gonna wait a little bit to put it on so i can get a pipe for it...and instead of buying a shock and forks im just gonna get the stiffer springs until i can afford a shock and fork set...
