Been there done that and it is pretty cool to have one assembled for you...

That bike looks alot like the one I had assembled for me last Janurary..I worked on it for 2 months to come up with that same exact bike..LOL

My throttle was billet and the levers were foldable...Now I see that bike coming up everywhere....You have one...Moto-Vert has one...It is basically the SDG Pro frame with mono shock and made of alloy...Nice bikes but the frames can't take that much abuse...Check out the Snapped Vert thread...

Here are some pict of the assembly last Janurary.....Walla you have a bike!
Trt,

Yes the frame looks similar...if not the same. Supposedly heat treated 6061 T-6. I used to work as an aircraft mechanic...now, I'm a scientist in the phrama industry. I plan on using my contacts in the two industries for discounted material anylasis of the frame (rockwell hardness, non destructive, destructive, and composition verification).

We'll probably have some questions for you as this progersses.

How is you bike holding so far?

Thanks,

Mike

A couple more...the carbon fiber look is pretty cool...

How do you like that engine? What size is it? The company that you dealt with was one of the companies that he was in contact with....but, he decided to try out a manufacturer/ assembler who used the Jialing.

My neighbor has a manufacturing background and some contacts in other countries that use a variety of suppliers from China....some of the contacts deal in the MX and pitbike industry. He's always been into MX (raced and rides for fun)....the philosophy behind this venture is to supply what's readily available at great prices.

I have an opportunity to get involved. So, if the quality of the test bikes is acceptable and the ability to offer production models at really low, fair prices is apparent, I may become a partner. I have a background in aircraft building and design, so I'd like the challenge of transferring my skill set to something moto related.

At the very least, I'll have a new "a la cart" custom bike delivered by the end of the week.

My neighbor is getting a few klx style bikes in the next few weeks also. One is a perimeter frame AL, the other is cromoly backbone style. I might add a perimeter framed one to the order for myself (or my son)...lol

I’ll take lots of pics and report back.

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, I know. That blew the idea of using several different brands and limited it to one family.

We were also shocked to find out that the models used for testing purposes had to be destroyed, dismanteled/decomissioned or sent back after the tests!

Well, I got it last week. We rode it all weekend and then disassembled it and went over all of the major components. So far so good.....It looks great in person and handles really good. The stock Jialing makes decent power and shifts smooth so far. Jetting is is a little off, but I fix that this weekend. So far we're very happy with it....Btw the way, the frame is a box AL extrusion...the backbone is a one piece box, not tubes with welded gussets:
