who has changed swingarms on ptster 125

looking for some ideas and pics, i know Staggs has a new kit coming out and i will be getting one as soon as they are available but i might want an a-frame setup for motard racing. does anyone know an a-frame swingarm that will work on the pitster frame?

yea i have the banana swingarm and want to change it.

yah... sorry i was having a non-explaining moment there. I don't see why you couldn't swap the original A-style pitster swingarm on your bike. You can then use your current wheel and shock...and brakes. You would just need the swingarm.

any A swinger should work as long as the bolt size is the same. You may have to relocate your shock mount but thats no biggie.

it seems like the distance between the inner swingarm bearings are different than standard, does anyone know what the distance is between frame mounts on crf50 swingarms are?

the one I have lying on the shelf is 4 13/16" -4 7/8". Probably metric but my measuring tape is not. My caliper is somewhere.

A frame

I spoke with Vince at Tbolt the other day about the same things and he told me that the mounting position is different for the A frame swingarm versus the Banana mono swingarm.



He told me that for roughly $110.00 for a new chromo frame and $99.00 for the A frame Swingarm. So $209.00 and you have a complete set up minus the new shock .



Check T bolt for more info.

Hackmunch you will have to grind down the swingarm pivot on the chain side. The 125X has a wider pivot point to allow the chain to pass thru swingarm.

The same mod has to be done to install the Staggs kit too.

so basicly i can get any swingarm to fit if i "hack" off 3/8" off the swing arm pivot.

you will have to cut that off of the sprocket side of the frame. this has to be done also when installing our new kit. But it is fairly simple any one can do it. The easies tool to use is a dremmel with cutting wheel.

ok cool, then i just have to figuire out what to do with the shock mount once i decide weither i want a a frame or mono set up.

the mono setup we provide a bolt in bracket relocator.

I just got done converting this bike the "X" model

Into the X2R model

If you have the money and the time to do it.... man o man it is worth it bro.
