ALL OF THIS IS MY OPINION. PLEASE RESPECT THIS AND I WILL RESPECT YOURS!



i think that the pitbike racing has kind of gotten out of control. I raced the MoM round 2 at rocky hill this past weekend. It was very apparent that whoever has the most money won. People are dumping thousands of dollars into these bikes, which were supposed to be just for fun. You cant race a class anymore, unless its the stock class or the 88 class, without being beaten by the guy who has more money than you. Everyones spending all this money on these bikes and forgetting the roots of this sport, to HAVE FUN. My opinion is if i wanted to spend thousands of dollars on a klx110 to make it a 143 stroker blah blah blah, i would just spend it on my 250.



i think its gotten too out of control. people are forgetting that the reason all this pit bike racing was started was to have fun. pretty soon well have fathers out on the side of the mini bike track, pushing there 13 year old son and yelling and screaming at them because they cant keep up on there 5000 dollar pitbike.



i feel as though it would be just as fair to race a crf150 in these classes... but whats the point, its just like racing a big bike at that point.

same here. For the past year, all I have raced is the stock class. What pisses me off tho is now in the stock class people are running inner rotor kits, hc pistons, stroker cranks etc. making a $1500 stocker unbeatable. When I used to race quarter midgets, we had this thing called tear downs. I guess they don't have it in pitbike racing, although they shouldn't have to.

I see what ur saying, but I dont agree. I think it is really fun to trick out your bike and make it fast, then go and ride the big bike track during the 80 practice. Going fast on such a small bike...dont you think thats fun? Knocking bars and elbows in the turns with your friends...that is the best part! Weather your on a klx 180 or stock bike with bars, as long as you have the same equipment as your friends, then you can battle on the track and have an absolute blast!

Thats why I dont race. I just hit the jumps around my house and ride on the street doing wheelies. These bike we suppose to be something you play with when you weren't ridding or just for a little time when it is too much of a hassle to get your big bike out fot 2 hours. Don't get me wrong they are fun. I can see some spoiled kid or someone rich cruising around on one very rarely, but this has become the norm for most people. The only reason my bikes aren't stock is beacuse one motor was almost blown and the little things that are either chesy or broken I upgraded ie grips and a unbrakeable lever.

Heres the deal, if you dont wanna spend the $$$ to be competitive and race, then dont, you dont have to. Thats what makes pitbikes fun, everyone can do as they wish.

I agree but theres nothing to do all you can do is make ur bike fast and cool. Building a bike by putting all this money into these bikes are fun though and it is even funner racing these small bikes when they go extremely fast.

agreed with Jester...its just like racing big bikes...u are involved in the second most expensive sport next to Nascar and Drag racing and stuff...we are way up towards the top in price range...But i agree with you too. there needs to be some limit or a set limit somewhere. I mean, i spent a crap load of money on a BBR150 only for the 150R to come out and now all the organizations buckle under the presure and change the rules....it was suppose to be twin valve air cooled and that doesnt even stick anymore. even tho it is just for fun its not fun when it gets to that point. they really need to maybe get stricter rules or something...i dont know, its going to come sooner or later, its only a matter of time before the AMA starts a pit bike series to follow the weekend after Supercross races I think.

Well, the 150R shouldnt really have a impact on your 150, down here they are not allowed to race together, the 150R has its own class as it simply just isnt really a pitbike but they let the people who bought one come play anyways, but we make fun of them lol.

While I understand your frustration, I would love to be able to justify the money for a big HP Kitaco/Takegawa/Daytona motor. However, I doubt that you are being beaten by a motor. I know this because my bike is faster than some of people that I have raced, in a drag race I pull them everytime. But out on the track they can still beat me. Why?? Because they are better riders, plain and simple. Look at all of those outdoor races Stewart won on the 125 2 stroke vs. the 250 4 strokes. Now, more hp and torque may get you closer, but for the most part a great rider on a 10hp bike will beat an average rider on a 14hp bike everytime.

Pit bikes are the last place where you can build and race a true "Works" bike, I would not give that up for anything. I get beat at the races sometimes but I still have fun, when you stop having fun then the time to stop racing is at hand.

108 stroker to a 124 DOHC or 119 dohc.....and my 19hp 175 against a 23hp 150R that is a full bread race machine with exhaust...are u joking?. I agree that the bike isnt everything 100% but just watch the starts...those things kill every other bike on the field except XR onlys 251cc bike that makes around the same power. and me 5th gear pinned on the sweeper at Hollister and having Craig from fast 50s fly past me lik im standing still??? the line is going to half to be drawn somewhere...and dont think im against spending money...dont get me wrong i just love throwing down 10 grand on bikes but eventually its going to stop and restrictions are gunna have to be put in place

its a bunch of BS how much people got into the bikes and how much they sell **** for. Ona budget 50 its hard to race big races and finish in the top 3 because of 6,000 $ motors.

well i was at the same race this past weekend. Im still in the 88 mod class. Personally i want to get a stock 50 again to race in the stock class because it looks so fun like it was before. But in the mod class i had a blast. Its like the last class that you can tell if someone is cheating or not. Which someone ended up doing and hoped on a 107 and checked out on the last race then sand backed so people would catch up. Personally if you gotta cheat to win that is being the sorest lozer.



Anyone remember when a done up 88 kit was considered really fast? Heh seems like as soon as i got my 88 thats when the 110 came out. Clearly the industry has taking a step forward. To me 110s really changed to sport, putting a 10 inch wheel against a 12 inch wheel for open classes realistically isnt to fair and i know many will agree with that.





If you didnt see me im on a pratically bone stock bike just with springs and a shock and a slightly built 88. Let me tell you it is the last fun class out there. Everything else is about money. Although some how i placed 5th overal in the college boy open which i think i was the only 10 inch wheeled bike out there ahah.

I think a little bit of what you say is true but who give a ****. You started riding pit bikes to have fun. If you are worried about what everybody else has then you are back to where you were before. Pit bikes are not like big bikes yeah some money helps but if you are good you are good everybody knows it and will give you props. Props mean way more then some trophie. If you are good and don't have the money enter some limited classes and dominate them then send out some leters and companies are more then jenerious, they'll help you out. It still is fun as long as people just have fun and don't bitch.

I agree and disagree also. I am one who spends a lot of money on my mini's and still lose races. But I am having fun. I do not like that Mini Moto has allowed the amount of mods to the stock classes though. I think stock should be stock (except springs, bars, and pipe.) That way you are truely racing apples to apples.) Now there will be people with 2k into there motor. Mini Moto is all about the start and he who has the biggest motor will most likely get the best start. I signed up for the stock 110 class to try and cure my spending habbit on my new bike but it is worse. Now I want to spend worthless money on it. (I will spend money to build my stock motor only to rebuild it after Vegas with an aftermarket kit)

Regardless This hobby is still cheap in comparrison to other racing. I know people who have 20-30K into friday night drag cars.

I saw the video clips of MOM and the jumps people are doing on mini's are insane. The mini scene is progressing very fast. It is going way beyond what I got into it for but I still love it and will ride to my ability and have fun doing it.

Older people don't give a crap about fair classes we just want to have fun building our bikes to the best of our ability and ride the heck out of them! You see their are kids that have them and then there are grown men that have them. We obviously have them for different reasons. Us oldogs are into this pit bike thing to ride, race, build and tinker with our bikes. Win or loose at the races matters to a point but having fun and setting your bike up is why we do it!





True some of these bikes cost way too much but to each their own. If I had the money for the best money I would love to put it on and ride the heck out of it. Riding a tricked out anything is more fun then riding the same thing in stock form. So what your saying leave it stock and have minimal amounts of fun? I DON'T THINK SO! Build the heck out of it and ride the heck out of it! Building you pit bike is alot of why you have one.



Definately need to race. Half the fun of riding is rubbing elbows with your buddy and then bench racing about it over a beer or 2 or even over a Dew!
