Just wondering who has actually done this mod. RKfinch has I believe... and maybe faaaatcat (not sure on quantity and placement of "a's" lol). I was talking with an extremely reputable engine builder about how they are not quite a bolt on upgrade. Whats the deal here. Something about the cam chain rubbing on the inside of the casting of the head?

make sure your timing ratio stays the same. I think that is where the problems are coming from. I'm pretty sure that jialing is the same as honda count... 14 teeth on the crank and 28 on the cam. Lifan runs something different if i'm not mistaken? Looks like Lifan runs a 32mm cam sprocket according to DRatv, meaning the crank sprocket is a 16 tooth.

I'm confused though... if you are using a 14 tooth sprocket on a Jialing bottom end... running a 28 tooth cam sprocket should fit better in a Lifan head than a 32 tooth?

My Jailing has a Honda stud pattern. I used a Kitaco ultra SE head, SE cam, and piston, Bored my Jailing cylinder to accept the 54mm piston, had to take

.120 off the cylinder to correct deck height, had to run Honda crank and cam gears and had to make a custom length ( I think it was an 86) cam chain. I also had to run Classic Honda forged gears as my now 132 Ultra SE killed 3rd gear constantly. If the gears hold I may build a stroker version of this motor as there was .120 decked off the cylinder since I have 2 more cylinders that are stock length I may be able to go to a plus 6mm stroke. Because of the oversized head studs on my Jailing the Head gasket holds extremely well. I have done a few of these motors and they do make more power than a 124 ultra SE at about half the cost, plus it came stock 4 speed, 5 disc clutch, you can use a Kitaco or Takegawa clutch cover and inner rotor, as I have. I did replace my 1down 3up shift drum with a 4 up so there are no miss shifts even in the air. I can help you with any of these mods, just ask. My jailing would accept any honda stud pattern head, including 4 valve heads. Think of the possibilities considering that the oil pump is gear driven off the clutch side of the motor there is tons of room for big big stroker cranks, and I believe that just under 170cc motors are possible with top of the line heads. Its will come down to how much HP the tranny and cases can take. The chinese cases are splitting in the bearing areas even stock, but usually from bearing failure first, then kick starting causes shaft seperation, breakage and case damage. I use japanese bearings in my chinese motors xlnt so far.

chris at pitster told me that the cam out of the lifan and the cam out of the jialing is the same. My plan is to use the lifan head but still use the jialing cam and the stock jialing cam sprocket. Will this work?

Where did this guy come from??? :D

I think you need to start a thread packed full of details on what you did. Jialing motors dont use honda stud spacing... soo... that was the only part that through me for a loop. Pics?

Matt AKA (holeshothobson)has also done a ultra head on a gpx motor. So I'm suprised he didn't put that in there.

Jailing does make motors with honda stud pattern also.

if the cam chain is rubbing the inside of the head................... it's a zonger head not a lifan head............... the lifan head is a direct bolt on..

So if somebody is bound and determined to build with zongshen heads... is it easiest to remove material in the head to clear the cam chain... or swap out the sprocket on the cam to make it possible to run a jialing cam/cam sprocket?
