alright im debating if i should sell my gpx motor (4up) outa my x2r and trade it for a basically brand new honda crf50 motor with a 114cc stroker kit, and a new manual clutch

i can buy that honda motor for 800$...i need some recomendations on what i should do..keep thee gpx and put a 131 or 140 and risk down the road tranny problems or get that 114 honda motor...the gpx motor is so slow on the x2 and im definatly going to already need to put a bore kit...but i just need to know if it a good swap or what

Go for the 114, it will be faster, but plan on having to do a 1k clutch kit down the road. I think there are some new bigger bore kits for the GPX coming out, and adding the big valve head I think it would realy rip! Just not sure how the bottom end will end up holding up when you get into the 15hp range.

2 cent

not if you use a tb 3 plate clutch with a billet clutch basket with a set of dratv hd clutch springs. I think it would hold just fine to any amount of power but just wont compair to a tranny mounted clutch in feel but will work good and still be cheaper than a Takegawa or Kitaco clutch but ya ride red get a HONDA engine you cant go wrong

ya i think i might just buy that motor...since i dont own a honda motor right now i never pay attention to what kits they have for them, and ive never seen just a 114cc stroker (just 108 and 117) so im gunna talk to him and see what exact parts hes using and what manual clutch hes gunna be putting in for that price...

wouldnt the 114cc kit be a 49.5mm crank, and then the 114cc kit from TB? thats probably how he got 114cc from a honda motor

I haven't heard of a 114cc. Be careful what you buy. If it's trail bikes it's probably pretty decent. I think you should go with at least 117cc. Anything less and you might as well go with one of the gpx kits cause the difference isn't nearly as much if any. Also, the transmission on the new 4 up gpx's are a lot better I think.
